32 RPAC Runners Competed For Nine Teams at the 2024 NSAA State Cross Country Meet

It was a perfect day for state cross country and man were the times fast today. 32 runners competed for Alma, Bertrand-Loomis, Cambridge, Hi-Line, Maxwell, Maywood-Hayes Center, Medicine Valley, Paxton, and Southwest. Check out the results from the day below.

Alma

For Alma, they had a solid day on the course. Nolan Pfeil finished 71st with a time of 18:55.84, Creighton Lynch finished 88th with a time of 19:15.02, Vaughn Fennel finished 107th with a time of 19:40.6, Bladyn Herrick finished 11th with a time of 19:46.9, and Barrett Zikmund finished 115th with a 20:21.0. The Cardinals will return their entire squad expect for Herrick as they will lose him to graduation. Alma will look to have another solid year next season.


Bertrand/Loomis

Marcus Hernandez finished 17th with a time of 17:28.1, Cade Hays 20th with a time of 17:39.0, Luke Larson was 57th with a time of 18:35.57, Quentin Mumm finished 98th with a time of 19:33.5, and Carter Horner finished 110th with a time of 19:45.8. The Wolfkings had a great day as all runners improved their times from the UNK Invite about a month ago. Bertrand/Loomis will lose most of their team to graduation so they will look to rebuild.


Cambridge

Gavin Gunderson finished 113th with a time of 20:05.4 and had a great career and a solid final race.


Medicine Valley

Kael Garrett finished 18th with a time of 17:33.4 and will be back next year for a solid senior campaign.


Wallace

Max Hanson finished 45th with a time of 18:19.2 and had a great sophomore season. He ran a solid race and will look to have another strong junior season next fall.

Alma

Harper Fennel finished 105th with a time of 24:40.8 on the course today and finished her high school career on the state course. What a great way to finish than on the state course.


Bertrand/Loomis

Kendra Porteck finished 101st with a time of 24:21.0 in her first year doing cross country. She will build on these experiences for a solid junior season.


Cambridge

Briar Gunderson led the team and finished 94th with a time of 23:35.7, Rachel Harris wrapped up her career with a 100th-place finish today with a time of 24:18.5, Katie Fegley finished 103rd with a time of 24:35.9, Kylie Koppen finished 111th with a time of 25:52.8, and Jensyn Weiss finished 112th with a time of 25:52.8. This squad will lose Harris to graduation. This experience will help them build their program for next season.



Hi-Line

Olivia Wall finished 98th with a time of 24:16.1, Kara Brockman finished 108th with a time of 25:37.5, Hailey Edwards finished 109th with a time of 25:37.5, and Whitney Page finished 118th with a time of 28:24.3. The Bulls have been battling injuries this season but will return this whole group in hopes of making the state meet again.


Maxwell

Illa Gosnell finished 38th with a time of 21:45.7. What a way to finish your freshman season. She had a great year and took many by surprise. She will come back next season with a little more experience and growth.


Maywood-Hayes Center

Agneshka Sankey finished 80th with a time of 23:10.0. She is also a freshman who had a great year. She will come back with more experience and challenge herself again.


Paxton

Natalie Jorgensen finished 71st with a time of 22:53.1 to close out her sophomore year. She had a great year and look for her to come back with bigger goals to strive for.


Wallace

Ryleigh Hanson finished 60th with a time of 22:29.5, Elliana Robertson finished 89th with a time of 23:21.8, Riggin Ketteler finished 104th with a time of 24:39.1, and Rally Ketteler finished 115th with a time of 26:41.0. Wallace graduates two big pieces of their team in Ashley Robertson and Ryleigh Hanson. They still have a solid group returning but look for them to rebuild.
