The #3 rated Arapahoe Warriors hosted Hi-Line for their Homecoming game. It was a picture-perfect night for football. The Warriors were able to win the matchup by a final score of 51-12.
Let's start in the first quarter; Arapahoe got their offense rolling fast as Trenton Roskop found Alex Diaz on a 52-yard pass just 86 seconds into the game. The PAT was good and it was 7-0. Hi-Line countered with a 10-yard run from Brody Diefenbaugh with 5:45 remaining in the first. It was 7-6 at that point in favor of Arapahoe.
The Warriors answered back quickly as Will Cacy scampered for a 58-yard touchdown to go up 13-6. Arapahoe got a stop on defense and then scored again before he end of thr quarter on a 21 yard run by Trenton Roskop.
Arapahoe was up 20-6 after the PAT and they caried that lead into the second period.
In the second quarter, Hi-Line played tough defense against the Warriors for the majority of the quarter and it kept them within striking distance. Arapahoe though did get the offense going late in the quarter and scored three times in a flurry.
Cacy scored from three yards out, with 4:41 to go in the half, then from 26 yards away with 1:45 to go, and finally on a 10-yard pass from Trenton Roskop to Kade Fisher with :59 seconds remaining to make it 41-6 after the PAT.
That was the score heading to the intermission.
In the second half, Grayson Koller scored with 8:12 to go in the third on a 35-yard run. It was 48-6 at that point following another PAT. Then with 4:38 to go in the third the Warriors had the opportunity to execute a unique play. Hi-Line was punting, and Cacy was back to return. He fair caught the punt near mid-field. Arapahoe then elected to have a free kick, which if put through the field goal posts is worth three points. So, from 54 yards away, Alex Diaz booted the kick, bounced off the crossbar and in for three. Anytime after a fair catch on a punt you have the option to have a free kick.
It was 51-6 heading to the final stanza.
Hi-Linedid not give up and fought until the end as they scored again on a 17-yard by Gage Rupe to make it 51-12.
