Arapahoe traveled down Highway 6/34 to take on Cambridge on Friday night for their second game of the season. It was Cambridge's home and season opener and they were able to secure the 3-0 victory over the Warriors.
In set one, the Trojans started off hot from the service line as they had back-to-back aces and jumped out to a 6-1 lead early. Arapahoe was able to put together a little run over their own to cut the deficit to one point, 9-8. It was a lot of back-and-forth action but Cambridge was able to secure the first set with a score of 25-18.
In set two, the Warriors jumped out first but after exchanging some aces and some errors, it was knotted at 5-5. Arapahoe gained a small two-point lead, but Cambridge fought back, and the two exchanged points for most of the set from errors and a handful of aces. Cambridge forced an Araphoe timeout at 13-9 and the Warriors climbed back into it to make it 14-13. The Trojans went on to win set two, 25-20, and take the 2-0 lead.
In the final set, it was pretty similar to the second set, Arapahoe scored first and then it went back and forth as the teams exchanged some errors and the Warriors got to a 5-2 lead. Cambridge was able to knot it but at 7-7 and it was tight through the middle of the set until the Trojans hit the 15-7 mark when they went on a run and forced an Arapahoe timeout at 17-12. The Warriors tried to make a run but it was too late as the Trojans sealed the 3-0 sweep with a final set score of 25-20.
For Cambridge, Brooklyn Holtze led the Trojans with 11 kills. Mallory Springer had nine kills, four aces, eight digs, and 13 assists. Elisabeth Kubik added 10 digs and Emmerie Tomlin had eight digs and 10 assists.

Cambridge starts the season at 1-0 and will be back in action Saturday morning as they host a tournament.
Arapahoe falls to 1-1 and will be back in action on Tuesday as they host a triangular with Loomis and Maywood-Hayes Center.
