It was another full day of wrestling as competitors from the RPAC battled in Omaha in front of a packed crowd again at the CHI Health Center. Of the 26 wrestlers from RPAC schools, two were competing to move to the championship. The other 18 were looking to keep their seasons alive. And at the end of day two, five wrestlers remain and will compete on Saturday.
Between semi-final matches and the heartbreak round, we saw a lot of great wrestling. Girls are not separated by class. RPAC boy's wrestlers were all in Class D. The wrestlers are separated by weight within the blog. Check out the results below.
First Round Consolations
In the first-round consolation matches, for the girls, Hayley Serfontein was able to advance with a 4-3 decision win over Jamelan Taylor of Papillion LaVista.
At 113 pounds, Tucker Brandyberry of Alma advanced with a 7-6 decision win over Holden Hodges of Burwell.
At 120 pounds, Wayne Lee of Arapahoe advanced with a pin over Brayden Nuttelman of Aquinas Catholic in 4:29. Konner McCrumb of Wauneta-Palisade also advanced with a pin over Dylan Furstenau of Neigh-Oakdale in 1:13. They both advanced to the second-round consolation matches.
At 126 pounds, Mitchel Stritt of Southwest ended his season as he fell to Hudson Deeds of NPSP in 1:58.
At 132 pounds, Briggs Hill defeated Cameron McGinnis of Kimball by fall in 1:57 to advance to the second-round consolation matches.
At 144 pounds, Titus Goshert of Arapahoe defeated CJ Quandt of South Loup by fall in 2:42 and advanced to the second-round consolation matches.
At 150 pounds, Paxton's, Colton Fote's, season ended with a loss to Chase Ggillming of Pleasanton by fall in 2:06 and Arapahoe's Grayson Koller ended his season with 6-3 decision loss to Kason Bruns of Sutherland.
Rafe Hill of Arapahoe advanced to the second-round consolation brackets with a pin over Cooper Walker of Mullen in 1:49.
At 157 pounds, Samuel Hare of Hitchcock County fell to Jorgan Condon of Creighton in 0:36 to end his season and Owen Heessel of Maxwell fell to JD Adam of Meridian in 3:39 to end his season.
At 165 pounds, Alek Molzahn of Alma defeated Garrett Keith of Twin Loup by fall in 0:57 to advance to the second round of the consolation bracket.
At 175 pounds, Tye Stanton of Cambridge won by sudden victory over Gabe Goes of Freeman SV-1 7-5 and Karson Shuler of Hitchcock County won by decision over Bryson Gadeken of Neligh-Oakdale, 5-2. They both advanced to the second-round consolation brackets.
At 190 pounds, Gabe Grove of Southern Valley ended his season by a 3-1 decision loss to Preston LeClair of Axtell and Trevor Manka of Maxwell fell to Cale Buss of Burwell in 1:00 to end his season.
At 215 pounds, Jaycob Young of Maxwell won by fall over Kaddo Schrunk of Pender in 2:01 to advance to the second-round consolation matches. This clinched his 100th career win.
At 285 pounds, Trey Broeker of Southern Valley ended his season by fall to Caden Swanson of Loomis in 3:52.
Second-Round Consolations
For the girls, Serfontein of Southern Valley ended her season with a fall to Maggie Painter of Pierce in 2:05.
At 113, Brandyberry of Alma fell to Symon Kastl of Aquinas Catholic in 4:33 to end his season.
At 120, Lee of Arapahoe ended his season with a loss to Joseph Barnell of Creighton by major decision 8-0 and McCrumb of Wauneta-Palisade fell to Hudson Urkoski of High Plains in 2:37 to end his season.
At 132 pounds, B. Hill of Arapahoe gets the 8-2 decision win over McLain of Hitchcock. Hill advanced and McLain’s season ended.
Dierks Sayer of Cambridge got the 10-6 decision win over Garrett Wedemeyer of Ravenna to advance to the third round of the consolation bracket.
At 144, Goshert of Arapahoe fell to Gavin Prewitt of North Central in 0:56 to end his season.
At 150 pounds, R. Hill of Arapahoe ended his season with a fall to Graiden Ritner of Wilcox-Hildreth in 1:27.
At 157 pounds, Hunter Perks of Cambridge won by injury default over JD Adam of Meridian and advanced to the third round.
At 165 pounds, Molzahn of Alma ended his season with a 5-1 decision loss to Zach Huenefeld of Nebraska Christian.
At 175, Shuler of Hitchcock County ended his season with a 7-5 decision loss to Rhett McFadden of Sandhills/Thedford.
Stanton of Cambridge advanced with a sudden victory over Logan Nelson of Wisner-Pilger SV-1 8-6.
At 190 pounds, Jeremy Felix of Alma won by a 5-1 decision over Preston LeClair of Axtell to advance to the third round.
At 215, Young of Maxwell fell to Caden Zutavern of Sandhills/Thedford in 2:47 to end his season.
At 285 pounds, Taylor Hubl of Hitchcock County won by fall over Paul Fehlhafer of Centennial in 4:27 to advance to the third-round consolation matches.
Third-Round Consolations
At 132 pounds, Sayer of Cambridge fell to Josue Munoz of Homer of Homer in 2:08 to end his season. B. Hill of Arapahoe pinned Gauge Thomsen of Pender in 2:51 to advance to the consolation semifinals on Saturday.
At 157 pounds, Perks of Cambridge pinned Austin Pelster of Homer in 0:30 to win and advance to the consolation semi-finals on Saturday.
At 190 pounds, Felix advanced to the consolation semifinals on Saturday with a pin over Dawson Doggett of South Loup in 4:49.
At 285, Hubl of Hitchcock County lost by a 5-1 decision to Aiden Gubbels of Randolph to end his season
Semi-finals
For the girls at 190, Madelyn Tryon of Southwest fell to Martha Hinneh of Omaha Marian in 5:28 and will move to the consolation bracket on Saturday.
At 120, Braxton Hammond of Southern Valley lost to Colt Kromarek of Plainview by sudden victory, SV-1 9-7. Hammond will move to the consolation semifinals on Saturday.
