The Southern Valley Girl's Basketball team competed at the NSAA Girl's Basketball Tournament on Thursday afternoon. The Eagles, the #6 seed in Class C2, took on the #3 seed, GACC. In the first quarter, the Bluejays took control of the game and led 15-9 after the first eight minutes.
In the second quarter, GACC distanced themselves more as they outscored the Eagles 17-11. At the half Southern Valley found themselves down 32-20.
In the second half, Southern Valley made a run at the Bluejays but couldn't complete the comeback.
In the third quarter, GACC was firing on all cylinders as they scored 20 points, and the Eagles hung with them scoring 15 in the period too. Going into the fourth, GACC led 52-35.
In the final quarter, Southern Valley was able to slow down the Bluejays holding them to 15 points, but couldn't get enough offense going.
Southern Valley ends the season with a record of 21-4.
GACC will play Pender on Friday at 3:15 P.M. at the Bob Devaney Sports Center.
