Yes, you read that correctly. Jeremy Felix claimed Alma's first gold medal in 31 years. Briggs Hill of Arapahoe competed in the championship match and came away with a silver medal, and six others brought home hardware. Consolation Semifinals

At 113 pounds, Grady Dempcy of Sutherland wrestled Dallas Wadsworth of Central Valley for a spot in either the 3rd or 5th place matches. Dempcy defeated Wadsworth by a 5-3 decision to advance to the 3rd-place match.

Scotty Anderson of Sutherland faced Brett Larson of Brady at 120 pounds and lost by a 7-0 decision. The loss sent Anderson to the 5th-place match.

At 132 pounds, Oliver Nutter faced Connor Rempe of Sandy Creek. Anderson lost to Rempe by major decision, 13-2, and will wrestle again in the 5th-place match.

Kreyton Wiese of Wauneta-Palisade wrestled Cale Buss of Burwell at 190 pounds. Buss defeated Wiese by fall in 3:38, sending Wiese to the 5th-place match.

At 215 pounds, Trey Downey of Arapahoe wrestled Cole Vorderstrasse of Thayer Central. Downey fell in 2:09 to Vorderstrasse, which sent him to the 5th-place match.

Karson Shuler of Hitchcock County wrestled Tate Kvanvig of Mullen at 215 pounds. Shuler was able to win over Kvanvig with a pin in 3:42 to send Shuler to the 3rd-place match.

5th-Place Matches

At 120 pounds, Scotty Anderson of Sutherland faced Eli Kult of Yutan. Kult defeated Anderson by a 4-0 decision, giving Anderson the 6th-place medal. Anderson finished his season with a record of 37-9.

Oliver Nutter of Sutherland wrestled Gavin Patterson of Wilcox-Hildreth at 132-pounds and fell to Patterson in 2:46. Nutter earned the 6th-place medal and ended his season with a record of 40-3.

At 190 pounds, Kreyton Wiese of Wauneta-Palisade faced Wyatt Stieb of Ansley-Litchfield. Wiese fell to Stieb in 2:18 and ended his season with a 6th-place medal and a record of 31-9.

Trey Downey of Arapahoe faced Logan Dodson of North Platte St. Pat's at 215 pounds. Downey fell to Dodson in 2:16 and finished with the 6th-place medal and a record of 35-19.

3rd-Place Matches

Grady Dempcy of Sutherland faced Tate Wood of Fullerton at 113 pounds. Dempcy secured the 3rd-place medal with a 4-0 decision win over Wood. Dempcy finished his season with a 34-2 record.

At 215 pounds, Karson Shuler faced Cole Vorderstrasse of Thayer Central. Shuler lost the match by a 10-4 decision and ended his season with a record of 28-7 and a 4th place medal.

Championship Matches

In Class D at 138 pounds, Briggs Hill faced Corbin Hoefer of Neligh-Oakdale. Hill lost to Hoefer by an 8-6 decision to end his season with a 40-7 record.

Jeremy Felix wrestled Cope Smith of Amherst in the Class C 190-pound match. Felix defeated Smith by major decision, 10-0. Felix was crowned the Class C 190-pound State Champion with a perfect record of 53-0. Felix ended his career with 168 wins, 327 takedowns, and 125 pins.
