Maywood-Hayes Center, the #2 seed took on the #3 seed Johnson-Brock in the semifinals of the Class D1 NSAA Boy's State Basketball Tournament. The Wolves were unable to move to the next round as they fell to the Eagles, 48-40.
It was very touch and go in the first quarter as the Eagles led by one after first quarter, 8-7. In the second quarter, the offense remained a struggle, but Maywood-Hayes Center was able to take the lead, 16-13 at the half.
In the third quarter, Johnson-Brock was able to find the offense while playing tough defense and they led 31-26 going into the fourth quarter.
In the fourth quarter, the Wolves had their chances, but some solid free throw shooting from the Eagles led to the win, as they outscored the Wolves 17-14.
Per the MaxPreps scorekeeping, Jeremiah Ingison led the Wolves with 20 points in the game. Maywood-Hayes Center will play #5 seed Dundy County Stratton in the consolation game from Lincoln Southeast at 11:00 A.M.
Johnson-Brock will play #1 seeded North Platte St. Pat's in the title game from PBA at 9:00 A.M.
