Our Top Concession Stand Foods

We truly are in the dog days of summer for the RPAC Rundown. No games. It makes us sad. But we do enjoy a bit of a break. And we have been teasing some fun content to come later this summer. Naturally, we are working on the magazine with the Valley Voice, which will be available in August before the sports season begins.

As you know, we spend a lot of time in the gym. And we have taken in a lot of concession stand food. So, we thought we'd share our top five favorite snacks from the concession stand. Now, you are entitled to your own opinion. But, Mackenzie and I feel pretty strongly about our selections.

Mackenzie's Top-5

5. Snickers

A Snickers bar is just an easy choice if you don't know what to get. It's a great candy bar that can fill you up for a bit while at the game, or for the ride home. A good combination of sweet and salty.

4. Hamburger

I'm junky for a hamburger. Just a classic burger is one of my favorites. It doesn't have to be special, just a hamburger with ketchup, mustard, and pickles. Burgers are hard to mess up, so it's a safe choice at the concession stands.

3. Walking Taco

Whenever a school has these, I'm jumping in line. Whether it's with Fritos or Doritos, it's a fun meal. This isn't really something I would make at home, so when it's at the concession stand I am excited to see it.

2. Popcorn

Need I say more? Popcorn from a big commercial popper is excellent. Extra butter, touch of salt, chef's kiss.

1. Soft Pretzel

Whether it's a salted pretzel with cheese or a cream cheese pretzel, you can find something to curb a craving. Easy snack to grab and pretty mess-free. Cream cheese pretzels are super underrated.

5. Walking Taco

What an invention. Open up a bag of chips and throw taco meat toppings in it. I am partial to the ones with Doritos, but I'll eat the ones with Fritos. Good meal at a concession stand for sure.

4. Milky Way

There are not a ton of concession stands that carry Milky Ways. So, when I see one, I try to get one. Just a classic-tasting candy bar. I love caramel and chocolate together.

3. Pizza

I love pizza. Sometimes I can be a pizza snob. But concession stand pizza is a classic, as long as it is warm and heated up properly. Nothing too flimsy, nothing with the crust hard as a rock. A good slice of pizza is always a good choice.

2. Soft Pretzel

I prefer a plain soft pretzel with cheese. Again, another thing that has to be heated up properly, otherwise my day is ruined. Some can be like cardboard, but done right, it is a gift from God that shall be cherished.

1. Popcorn and M&M's

For me, this is easy. I love popcorn. I love M&M's. So I put them together. The ultimate salty and sweet combo. It isn't a meal, although it has been for me before at games, it is an awesome snack. Easy to share, just the best. This is a hill I'm willing to die on.
