PAXTON FALLS DURING THE FIRST ROUND OF STATE

Paxton, the #8 seed in Boy's Class D2 NSAA State Basketball Tournament, took on #1 seeded Wynot on Thursday morning. The Tigers were unable to get the win and move on, as they fell 57-47.


In the first quarter, it was a feeling-out process for the two teams and they were tied at 9-9. In the second period, the Blue Devils were able to create some separation as they scored 16 points to the Tigers' 10. Paxton trailed 25-19 at halftime.


In the third quarter, Paxton struggled on the offensive side. as they scored eight points while Wynot scored 14 in the period. Going to the fourth, Paxton trailed 39-27. In the final quarter, Paxton got the offense rolling as they scored 20 points, but the Blue Devils put up 18 to keep the lead and eventually win.


Paxton ends the season with a record of 17-6. Wynot will play #5 seed SEM on Friday at 6:00 P.M. from Pinnacle Bank Arena.
