This past week, Maxwell/St. Pat's played a pair of games and went 1-1 in their matchups. On Tuesday, they went to Holdrege to face the Dusters. Maxwell/St. Pat's lost the game 12-2. The Dusters scored three runs in each of the first two innings to go up 6-0.
Maxwell/St. Pat's scored two in the top half of the 4th inning. But, Holdrege scored six in the home half of that inning to take a 10-run lead and close the game. For Maxwell/St. Pat's, Issac Irish went 2-2 with an RBI, and Breckyn Collins went 1-2 with an RBI.
Irish went two innings on the mound, five hits, six earned runs, two walks, and four strikeouts. Kole Jones went two innings, two earned runs, and four walks.
Errors were an issue for Maxwell/St. Pat's accumulating six of them.
Talk about a bounce back, though, Maxwell/St. Pat's played Aurora at home on Friday at Bill Wood Field and won 7-6.
It didn't look good to start fo Maxwell/St. Pat's though as they fell behind 4-1 after the first inning. But they started the climb back. In the home half of the 4th inning, Maxwell/St. Pat's was down 6-1. They scored three runs to cut the deficit to 6-4.
Then, in a dramatic 7th inning, they scored three more runs to capture the win. Stats have not yet been entered for this game.
Maxwell/St. Pat's is now 2-3 and will be in action next on April 24th when they host a triangular with Adams Central and North Platte.
