Dundy County Stratton competed in the Class D1 NSAA Tournament this past week as the #5 seed. In the first round, they faced #4 seed Elm Creek and came away with a double-overtime win, 63-55. Jackson Kerchal had 18 points in the win. Then they faced #1 seeded St. Pat's and fell in a close one, 43-40. Alex Englot was great with 20 points in the loss. In the consolation game, they faced #2 seeded Maywood-Hayes Center. This was the fourth time they had played this season, and the Tigers were able to get the win, after falling the previous three times, 67-59. Jackson Kerchal again was solid this time with 26 points and 12 rebounds. Dundy County finished third, and ended the season with a record of 24-5.
Maywood-Hayes Center came into the Class D1 State Tournament as the #2 seed. They began with a matchup against #7 seeded Ansley-Litchfield and won 72-35. Hayden Kramer had 28 points and 10 rebounds in the game. In the semifinal game, MHC fell to #3 seeded Johnson-Brock 48-40. Jeremiah Ingison had 20 points in the game and six rebounds. In the 3rd and 4th place game, they played DCS and lost, 67-59. Ingison had 13 points and seix rebounds. The Wolves finished fourth in D1 and with a record of 26-4.
