In shot put, Finch placed 2nd with a throw of 41'4", Kobe Florom placed 4th with a throw of 36'10", and John Fricke placed 6th with a throw of 35'3.5". In the discus, Finch placed 1st with a throw of 129'4" and Florom placed 3rd with a throw of 115'6.5".
