RPAC Boys Basketball Results as of 1/12



Another busy week of hoops for RPAC teams. We personally saw some great performances during our Featured Matchups, and there were many others throughout the week.


Alma


The Cardinals had three games this week and went 3-0. First, they beat Northern Valley, KS, 69-27. Alma had three players in double figures, Tucker Biskup with 21 points, Zavier Mitchell with 18, and Grady Faimon with 13. Titus Epp had six assists, and Faimon had nine rebounds.


The Cardinals then faced Franklin and won 62-20. Biksup had 17 points to lead Alma, and Zavier Mitchell had 16 points, six rebounds, and six steals.


Alma finished the week with a 64-32 win over Axtell on Saturday. Four Cardinals were in double figures and one had a double-double. Zavier Mitchell had 15 points and 15 rebounds, Isaiah Neal had 14 points, Faimon had 12 points, and Biskup added 10.


Alma is 11-1 and will go to Amherst on Tuesday, at Hi-Line on Thursday that game is in Elwood, and then home versus Hitchcock County on Friday.


Arapahoe


The Warriors had a trio of games this week and dropped each of them. On Tuesday, they traveled to Maxwell and lost 59-49. The Warriors hung around for most of the game but just couldn't break through. Eli Shafer was awesome, with 14 points and 15 rebounds. Alex Diaz had 12 points and eight rebounds. Hayden Sich added 10 points.


Then, on Friday, Arapahoe fell to Medicine Valley, 64-37. Aiden Roush and Clayton North each had seven points in the game. Shafer led the rebounding effort with seven.


On Saturday, the Warriors dropped their game to Southern Valley at home, 42-31. Arapahoe is now 1-12 this season and will play at home on Tuesday versus Loomis, then at Hi-Line on Friday. That game is in Eustis.




Bertrand


The Vikings have found a groove. They have won four in a row, and three of them came this week. First, they took down Wilcox-Hildreth 76-43 on Tuesday. Bertrand jumped out to a 21-11 lead and never looked back. Three players scored at least 20 points; Thunder and Hunter Nelson each had 22 and Marcus Hernandez had 20.


On Thursday, they hosted Southern Valley, and that was an RPAC Rundown Featured Matchup in which Bertrand won 60-33. You can read the full game story here.


Bertrand then faced South Loup on Saturday and won 60-51. Four players were in double-figures: Thunder Nelson had 16 points and 13 rebounds, Hernandez had 15 points, Kayden Hatfield had 14, and Hunter Nelson had 10.


Bertrand is now 9-4 and will host Southwest on Friday and go to Overton on Saturday.


Cambridge


Cambridge had just one game this week, as their Monday matchup against Paxton was canceled. So, they hosted Southwest and won 76-65. The big story was Brady Ahlemeyer scoring 42 points in the win. You can read the full game story here, as it was an RPAC Rundown Featured Matchup.


Cambridge is now 4-6 and will host Medicine Valley on Tuesday, Sutherland on Friday which is an RPAC Rundown Featured Matchup, and then go to Maxwell on Saturday.



Dundy County Stratton


The Tigers had one game this past week, and it was against Chase County. DCS dropped the game 70-39. The Tigers trailed 31-27 at halftime, but a 39-12 second half from the Longhorns gave them the edge.


Ethan Latta had 12 points and five rebounds; Lane Bybee added 10 points and nine rebounds. Breck Horner had seven points and six boards.


DCS is now 8-2 and will be at Hitchcock County on Tuesday and then at Loomis on Saturday.


Hi-Line


The Bulls had two games this past week and dropped both of them First, on Tuesday, they lost to Maywood-Hayes Center 53-45. Judah Niemeier had 13 points and Brody Diefenbaugh had 12.


Then Hi-Line lost to SEM on Thursday, 50-32. Dawson Ruda had 10 points in the game to lead the way.


Hi-Line is 4-7 and will play at Southwest on Tuesday and then host Alma in Elwood, and then host Arapahoe on Saturday, that game in Eustis.





Hitchcock County


The Falcons had two games this past week and took both games. First, they beat Southwest on Tuesday at home, 64-35. The Falcons kept things rolling on Saturday as they went to Wauneta-Palisade and won 65-23.


The Falcons are 8-1 and will host DCS on Tuesday go to Alma on Friday, and then host Sutherland on Saturday. The matchup with Sutherland is an RPAC Rundown Featured Matchup.


Maxwell


The Wildcats had three games this week and went 1-2. First, they beat Arapahoe 59-49. Cole Huffman had a big game with 27 points, hitting six three-pointers, and then Jesse Reyes had 17 points and 10 rebounds.


Then on Friday, they went to Hershey and lost 66-46. Huffman had 12 points and Reyes had 10. Kole Jones added nine.


Maxwell then faced Overton and dropped the game 62-38. Maxwell is 2-8 and will host MHC on Tuesday, go to South Loup on Friday, and then host Cambridge on Saturday.


Maywood-Hayes Center


The Wolves played in a pair of games this week and found a way to win both of them. First, they beat Hi-Line on Tuesday, 53-45. Jaxson Anders scored 22 points and had five rebounds. Kade Broz had eight rebounds, six assists, and five steals.


MHC then faced Paxton, and it was the second time they had beaten the Tigers by a narrow margin, 53-50. Three Wolves were in double-figures Charlie Callis had 18 points and 10 rebounds, Jaxson Anders had 16 points, and Kody Schwenk had 11 points.


MHC is now 9-3 and will face Maxwell on the road on Tuesday and then host Sandhills-Thedford on Friday in Maywood.




Medicine Valley


After a four-game losing streak, Medicine Valley has gotten back on track with a pair of wins in the last week. First, they beat Wallace 47-32. That was an RPAC Rundown Featured Matchup, so you can read the full game story here.


Medicine Valley then hosted Arapahoe on Friday and won 64-37. Brody Senff had 13 points and 18 rebounds, Lucas Einspahr had 23 points, and Mason Roblee added 12 points and nine rebounds. Nice all-around games for the Raiders.


The Raiders are 5-5 and will go to Cambridge on Tuesday and then play at Mullen on Saturday.






Paxton


Paxton played two games this week, one on Thursday and the other on Friday, and split the matchups. Paxton first beat Leyton 64-35. Maddex McConnell had 16 points and Tanner Hebblethwaite had 17 points and 10 rebounds.


Paxton faced MHC on Friday and lost a close one, 53-50. Paxton led 18-4 after the first quarter, but the Wolves clawed back and found a way to win. Tanner Hebblethwaite had 15 points, and Jasper Brewster had 11 points and 10 rebounds.


Paxton is now 7-3 and will be at Creek Valley on Thursday and at Wallace on Friday.


Southern Valley


The Eagles played a pair of matchups this week and went 1-1. They began with a battle against Bertrand on Thursday, and it was an RPAC Rundown Featured Matchup. The Eagles lost, 60-33. You can read the full game story here.


Then they played Arapahoe and won 42-31. Southern Valley is now 3-9 and will play at Chase County on Tuesday, at Holdrege on Thursday, and home versus Southwest on Saturday.


Southwest


The Roughriders had a trio of games this week and they went 1-2. They began with a loss to Hitchcock County, 64-35 on Tuesday.


Friday nights they went to Cambridge which was an RPAC Rundown Featured Matchup. The Roughriders fought hard but lost 76-65. You can read the full game story here.


Southwest bounced back nicely on Saturday as they hosted Wauneta-Palisade and won 69-42. Southwest is 4-7 and will host Hi-Line on Tuesday, head to Bertrand on Thursday, and go to Southern Valley on Saturday.





Sutherland


The Sailors got back on the court following a long break for the Holidays. They had three games and dropped all of them. First, they fell to Hyannis 30-27. Jackson Saner had nine points and Ethan Holm and Mason Mortimer each had eight.


Then the Sailors lost to Sandhills-Thedford, 42-25.


In their final game of the week, the Sailors fell to Perkins County 66-22. The Sailors are 2-7 and have two games this week, which are both RPAC Rundown Featured Matchups. They will be at Cambridge on Friday and then at Hitchcock County on Saturday.




Wallace


The Wildcats were busy this week and won two of their three games. First, on Tuesday, they hosted Medicine Valley and lost 47-32. That was an RPAC Rundown Featured Matchup, so you can read the full game story here. 


Wallace bounced back in a big way, winning their next two games. First, on Friday at Arthur County, they won 52-30. Then, they beat Mullen on Saturday at home, 63-31.


Wallace moves to 8-4 and will play at South Platte on Thursday and then home versus Paxton on Friday.


Wauneta-Palisade


The Broncos played in three games this week and dropped all of the matchups. They fell to Cheylin, KS on Tuesday, 51-36. The Broncos led 26-17 at halftime. But the offense fell stagnant, and the Cougars found some things that worked to get the win.


Then, they fell to Hitchcock County on Friday, 65-23. They ended the week with a loss to Southwest on Saturday, 69-42.


The Broncos are now 1-10 and will play at Perkins County on Friday and home versus Garden County on Saturday.
