RPAC Boys Basketball Results as of 12/29


RPAC squads got back to the court on December 27th as the NSAA Moratorium came to a close. Check out the blog below.


Alma


Alma didn't have any games last week and is off until they travel to Medicine Valley on January 3rd and host Superior on January 4th.


Arapahoe


The Warriors hosted the Bob Braithwait Holiday Tournament on December 27th and 28th. First, they played Franklin and won 47-33. Will Cacy had 17 points and nine rebounds, and Eli Shafer had a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds.


In the championship game the next night, the Warriors faced Blue Hill and lost 55-38. Gage Gooden had a nice game with 16 points and five rebounds. Eli Shafer again controlled the glass with 11 rebounds.


Arapahoe is 1-9 and will play at Maxwell on Tuesday, January 7th, then face Medicine Valley on the road on the 10th and Southern Valley at home on the 11th.



Bertrand


Bertrand was off last week and will resume action during the Elm Creek Holiday Tournament on December 30th and 31st and then host Wauneta-Palisade on January 3rd.


Cambridge


Cambridge played in the Pleasanton Holiday Tournament on December 27th and 28th and split the games. In the first game, they fell to Pleasanton, 65-52. It was tied 11-11 after the first, but the Bulldogs slowly began pulling away.


Brady Ahlemeyer had 18 points, Hodge Raburn added 16, and Krayton Ruggles scored 11. Raburn had six steals too.


The Trojans bounced back and beat Anselmo-Merna, 39-32. Ahlmeyer had 14 points, and Raburn had 14 points and 11 rebounds. Braydon Miller had 10 rebounds.


Cambridge is now 2-6 and will play Maywood-Hayes Center on Thursday in Hayes Center. On Saturday, they have Paxton at home, which is an RPAC Rundown Featured Matchup.





Dundy County Stratton


The Tigers of DCS played in the Axtell Holiday Tournament on December 27th and 28th. They ended up convincingly winning the tourney. They began with a 58-28 win against Heartland Lutheran.


DCS then played Axtell and won 60-43. DCS continues to play strong basketball and is now 8-1. They are off until January 7th, when they play at Chase County.


Hi-Line


Hi-Line had one game coming from the break, at home versus Lawrence-Nelson. The Bulls dropped the game, 60-42. Zach Whittaker led the Bulls with 15 points, and Brody Diefenbaugh had eight. Hi-Line is now 4-5 and will play again on January 7th at Maywood-Hayes Center and then at SEM on January 9th.




Hitchcock County


Hitchcock County was off last week and will remain off until they travel to Brady on January 3rd and 4th for their holiday tournament.


Maxwell


Maxwell hosted their own Holiday Tournament on December 27th and 28th. They ended up going 1-1 during the tourney. First, they fell to Sandhills Valley 42-29. Cole Huffman led the scoring for the Wildcats with 10 points.


Maxwell, though, bounced back and beat Brady 61-41. The Wildcats got big games from Huffman, 21 points, and Jessee Reyes had 22.


Maxwell is now 1-6 and is off until Tuesday, January 7th, when they host Arapahoe, and then on January 10th, they have Hershey at home, and on January 11th, they go to Overton.





Maywood-Hayes Center


Maywood-Hayes Center played in the Paxton Holiday Tournament and ended up being the tournament champion. Yes, the blog title is results as of 12/29, but we will mention their win on Monday in the blog. First, they beat Paxton on Saturday in overtime, 42-39. The Wolves trailed 30-24 heading to the final quarter. But the Wolves came back to tie it and then win the game.


Kody Schwenk had 10 points, Grady Erickson added eight, and Oliver Anders had 10 boards.


On Monday, they beat Garden County, 49-46 in overtime too. Both Erickson and Charlie Callis had 10 points in the win. Anders posted 10 rebounds again. MHC is 7-2 and will play at home against Cambridge in Hayes Center on Friday, and then on Saturday, they are in Maywood against Mullen.





Medicine Valley


Medicine Valley was off last week and will resume action at home on January 3rd against Alma.


Paxton


Paxton hosted their Holiday Tournament on Saturday, and then they played against Garden County on Tuesday evening. They initially played Maywood-Hayes Center and fell in overtime 42-39.


The Wolves trailed 30-24 heading to the final quarter. But the Wolves came back to tie it and then win the game.


Noah Coppersmith led the scoring with 12 points, Maddex McConnell had 11, and Ethan Hardin had five. Paxton is now 5-2, and as we mentioned, they will play Tuesday evening versus Garden County, and then they go to Cambridge on Saturday. That will be an RPAC Rundown Featured Matchup.


Southern Valley


The Eagles played in the Bob Braithwait Holiday Tournament in Arapahoe on December 27th and 28th. First, they fell to Blue Hill, 56-38. They were down by one after the first quarter, 18-17. But the second quarter doomed them as they were outscored 23-5.


The Eagles did a nice job regrouping and getting a win as they beat Franklin on Saturday 46-32. Southern Valley is now 2-8 and will play Southwest at home on Saturday.


Southwest


Southwest was off last week and will resume action on Friday when they host Franklin and travel to Southern Valley on Saturday.



Sutherland

Sutherland was off last week and will resume action on January 7th at home against Hyannis, travel to Sandhills/Thedford on January 10th, and host Perkins County on January 11th.


Wallace

Wallace was off last week and will resume action on Tuesday and Thursday when participating in the Perkins County Holiday Tournament.


Wauneta-Palisade

Wauneta-Palisade was off last week and will resume action on Friday when they travel to Bertrand.
