The RPAC Championship and Consolation brackets are set for Tuesday night. #1 seed on the West, Maywood-Hayes Center, hosted on Monday night and #1 seed on the East, Southwest, hosted as well. Let's dive into the results starting with the West.
The first consolation match for the West was #3 Maxwell vs #5 Wauneta-Palisade. The Broncos earned the 2-0 sweep over Maxwell with set scores of 25-15 and 25-12.
The next consolation match was #2 Dundy County Stratton vs #4 Wallace. Wallace took the first set over DCS, 25-21, and then the Tigers took sets two and three 25-20 and 25-19, to win the match, 2-1.
The semifinal match between #1 Maywood-Hayes Center and #6 Hitchcock County rounded out the West. The Wolves took set one 25-20, set two 25-21, the Falcons took set three 25-20, and MHC took set four 25-12, and the match, 3-1.
Now for the East side. The first consolation match was #3 Alma vs #5 Southern Valley. Alma took set one over Southern Valley, 25-15, and then the Eagles took sets two and three, 27-25 and 25-17, to win the match, 2-1.
The next consolation match was #4 Bertrand vs #6 Arapahoe. Bertrand took set one, 25-20, and Arapahoe took sets two and three 27-25 and 25-22, to win the match, 2-1.
In the semifinal match, it was #1 Southwest vs #2 Cambridge. Cambridge took Southwest by surprise and took sets one and two with set scores of 25-22 and 25-23, and the Roughriders performed a reverse sweep taking sets three, four, and five with set scores of 25-20, 25-12, and 15-12, winning the match, 3-2.
For Southwest, Kyra Nelms had 19 kills, Anikka Nelms had 10 kills and four blocks, Atleigh Nelms had 16 kills and 21 digs, Payton Truksa had 10 kills and 10 digs, Anastasia Gallegos had 15 digs, Allison VanPelt had 20 digs and four aces, and Aspen Billeter had 52 assists, 18 digs, and three blocks.
The bracket is now set for Tuesday night's matches at the MCC Graff Event Center. #6 Hitchcock County will take on #2 Cambridge in the consolation match at 5:30 P.M. CT and #1 Maywood-Hayes Center will take on #1 Southwest in the championship game at 7:00 P.M. CT.
