RPAC Girls Basketball Results as of 1/12


Another week in the books and another week closer to the RPAC Tournament. Check out all the results from last week below!



Alma


On Tuesday, the Cardinals hosted Northern Valley, KS, and ran away with the 71-28 win. Alma had 37 steals in the game as a team. Tierston Moore led Alma with 21 points, eight rebounds, three assists, and seven steals; Kamryn Scott had 18 points, three assists, and three steals; Vayden Epp had 11 points and seven steals; Chayse Molzahn had 10 points, three rebounds, and four steals; and Kamri Neal had seven points, eight rebounds, three assists, and nine steals.


On Thursday, Alma hosted Franklin and earned the win, 60-15. The Cardinals had a strong defensive game again, with 18 steals as a team. Scott led the team with 16 points, four assists, and three steals; Miley Whitney had nine points and six steals; Neal had nine points, six rebounds, and three assists; Moore had eight points, six rebounds, four assists, and three steals; and Molzahn had eight points and five rebounds.


Alma traveled to Axtell on Saturday and won 64-21. The Cardinals had 18 steals in the game. Scott had 23 points, Whitney had 14 points, and Harper Fennel had eight points.


The Cardinals improved to 9-3 and will travel to Amherst on Tuesday, Hi-Line on Thursday, and host Hitchcock County on Friday to wrap up their games before the RPAC Tournament.


Arapahoe


On Tuesday, Arapahoe traveled to take on Maxwell. The Warriors came away with the 65-43 road win. Arapahoe had a strong defensive game as they tallied 38 rebounds and 18 steals as a team. Suttyn Shafer had 16 points, six rebounds, and five steals; Cadence Carpenter had 12 points, six rebounds, and six assists; McKenzie Ewoldt had eight points and four rebounds; and Sawyer Shafer had seven points and four steals.


The Warriors traveled to Medicine Valley on Friday. Defense was strong again for Arapahoe as they posted 33 rebounds and 32 steals as a team. Arapahoe ran away with the 71-30 win. Suttyn Shafer had 18 points and 13 steals; Emma Strand had 11 points, five rebounds, three assists, and three steals; and Clara Hilker had nine points and four rebounds.


Arapahoe hosted Southern Valley on Saturday and lost a close one to the Eagles, 46-41. Desi Farner had 10 points; Cadence Carpenter had nine points and three points; Strand had five points and three rebounds; Suttyn Shafer had five points, eight rebounds, five assists, and three steals; and Hilker had five points and five rebounds.


Arapahoe is 8-5 on the year and will host Loomis on Tuesday and travel to Hi-Line on Friday.



Bertrand


The Vikings traveled to Wilcox-Hildreth on Tuesday and lost to the Falcons 43-35. Addison Andersen had 12 points and five rebounds, and Brooklyn Evans had nine points, five rebounds, and three steals.

Bertrand traveled to South Loup on Saturday to take on the Bobcats and won 58-24.


The Vikings are 6-7 on the year and will host Southwest on Friday and travel to Overton on Saturday.


Cambridge


The Trojans had just a single game last week. Paxton was supposed to come to town on Monday for their postponed game, but the roads just weren't quite good enough to make the trip to force that game to be canceled.


On Friday, they played host to Southwest. Cambridge lost 56-19. This was an RPAC Rundown Featured Matchup, and you can read more about this game by clicking here.


Cambridge is 3-7 and will host Medicine Valley on Tuesday, Sutherland on Friday, and travel to Maxwell on Saturday.


Dundy County Stratton


The Tigers traveled to Chase County on Tuesday and came up short, 45-31. Kimberly Escobar led the team with 11 points, four rebounds, and six steals, and Abi Spargo had nine points, four rebounds, and three steals.


DCS falls to 7-3 and will travel to Hitchcock County on Tuesday, Medicine Valley on Thursday, and Loomis on Saturday.



Hi-Line


Hi-Line traveled to Maywood-Hayes Center on Tuesday and lost 73-17. Ellaray Koch led the team with nine points, six rebounds, and two steals, and Shelby Jurjens had four points and seven rebounds.


On Thursday, SEM hosted the Bulls and defeated Hi-Line 46-37. Koch posted 14 points, three assists, and four steals; Jurjens had eight points, 10 rebounds, and three blocks; and Olivia Wall had seven points, 11 rebounds, and three steals.


Hi-Line is now 2-9 on the year and travels to Southwest on Tuesday, host Alma on Thursday, and host Arapahoe on Friday.


Hitchcock County


Hitchcock County was scheduled to start the week with Southern Valley on Monday, but due to the winter weather in the area, that game was postponed to a later date.


On Tuesday, the Falcons hosted Southwest and lost to the Roughriders, 60-49. Raegan Hagan had 13 points, three rebounds, and three assists; Riley Hagan had 12 points, six rebounds, and four assists; and Kaiah Johnson had 10 points and three rebounds.


On Friday, Hitchcock County defeated Wauneta-Palisade on the road 58-43.


Hitchcock County is 4-5 on the season and will resume action when they host Dundy County Stratton on Tuesday, travel to Alma on Friday, and host Sutherland on Saturday.




Maxwell


On Tuesday, Maxwell hosted Arapahoe and lost to the Warriors 65-43. Kristyn Cheek had 12 points, six rebounds, and three steals; Emory Christensen had 12 points, nine rebounds, three steals, and three blocks; and Madelyn Flock had 11 points and three rebounds.


Maxwell hosted Hershey on Friday and fell 58-30. Christensen had nine points, eight rebounds, and three steals; Cheek had eight points, nine rebounds, and three steals; and Flock had six points, three rebounds, three assists, and two steals.


On Saturday, Maxwell traveled to Overton to take on the Eagles and lost 52-44. Flock had 12 points and seven assists; Miller had 11 points, seven rebounds, five assists, and three steals; Christensen had nine points and nine rebounds; and Cheek added seven points, 11 rebounds, and four steals.


Maxwell is 5-6 and will host Maywood-Hayes Center on Tuesday, travel to South Loup on Friday, and host Cambridge on Saturday.


Maywood-Hayes Center


The Wolves hosted Hi-Line on Tuesday and got the 73-17 win over the Bulls. MHC had 29 steals in the game as a team. Kesli Cox had 18 points, four rebounds, and three steals; Caylie Softley had 16 points, six rebounds, and seven steals; Karissa Stengel had 16 points, five rebounds, five assists, and eight steals; and Blayklee Farr had 10 points, four rebounds, three assists, and three steals.


On Friday, MHC traveled to Paxton and defeated the Tigers 67-41. Softley had 20 points and six rebounds; Reagan Stengel had eight points, four rebounds, and three assists; and K. Stengel had seven points, nine rebounds, 10 assists, and six steals.


Maywood-Hayes Center was selected to play in the Nebraska Girls Showcase and played Shelton at Kearney High on Saturday. The Wolves were defeated by the Bulldogs 58-42. K. Stengel had 18 points and six rebounds, and Cox had 10 points and six rebounds.


MHC is 11-2 on the season and will travel to Maxwell on Tuesday and host Sandhills/Thedford on Friday.



Medicine Valley


On Tuesday, the Raiders traveled to Wallace to take on the Wildcats and came up short, 40-35. This was an RPAC Rundown Featured Matchup, and you can read more about this game by clicking here.


On Friday, the Raiders hosted Arapahoe. The Warriors defeated Medicine Valley 71-30. Remmi Stout had 16 points and eight rebounds, and Oakley Stout had five points, three rebounds, and three steals.


Medicine Valley is 1-9 on the year and will travel to Cambridge on Tuesday, host Dundy County Stratton on Thursday, and travel to Mullen on Saturday.


Paxton


Paxton was supposed to travel to Cambridge on Monday for their postponed game, but the roads just weren't quite good enough to make the trip to force that game to be canceled.


On Thursday, the Tigers traveled to Leyton and were defeated 75-45. Ella Fote had 16 points and four rebounds; Natalie Jorgensen had eight points and three rebounds; and Jakcee Mitchell led the team with eight rebounds.


On Friday, Paxton hosted Maywood-Hayes Center and lost 67-41. Fote had 14 points and five rebounds; Emmalee Nicholson had 11 points and seven rebounds; and Jaleigh Hansen had seven points.


Paxton is 5-5 and will travel to Creek Valley on Thursday and Wallace on Friday.



Southern Valley


Southern Valley was scheduled to start the week with Hitchcock County on Monday, but due to the winter weather in the area, that game was postponed to a later date.


On Thursday, Bertrand hosted Southern Valley, and the Eagles came away with the 57-24 win. This was an RPAC Rundown Featured Matchup, and you can read more about this game by clicking here.


On Saturday, the Eagles traveled to Arapahoe and defeated the Warriors 46-41. Tori Bose had 16 points and seven rebounds and Adi Hunt had 15 points and eight steals.


Southern Valley is 10-2 and will travel to Chase County on Tuesday, Holdrege on Friday, and host Southwest on Saturday, a makeup game from January 4th.


Southwest


The Roughriders traveled to Hitchcock County and earned Tuesday's 60-49 win.


On Friday, Cambridge hosted the Roughriders and defeated the Trojans 56-19. This was an RPAC Rundown Featured Matchup, and you can read more about this game by clicking here.


Wauneta-Palisade traveled to town on Saturday and defeated the Broncos 58-39. Kyra Nelms had 25 points and 12 rebounds; Anastasia Gallegos had nine points, five rebounds, and five assists; Allison VanPelt had nine points, four assists, and four steals; and Aspen Billeter had nine points and nine rebounds.


Southwest is 10-1 and will host Hi-Line on Tuesday, travel to Bertrand on Friday, and then to Southern Valley on Saturday, a makeup game from January 4th.


Sutherland


Sutherland traveled to Hyannis on Tuesday and lost 39-22. Gracyn Elfeldt had 11 points and 10 rebounds.


On Friday, the Sailors traveled to Sandhills/Thedford and lost 51-19.


On Saturday, Perkins County came to town and lost 66-40.


The Sailors are 3-7 and will travel to Cambridge on Friday and Hitchcock County on Saturday.


Wallace


Wallace hosted Medicine Valley on Tuesday and earned the 40-35 win. This was an RPAC Rundown Featured Matchup, and you can read more about this game by clicking here.


On Friday, the Wildcats traveled to Arthur County and picked up the 45-39 win.


Mullen traveled to Wallace on Saturday, and the Wildcats lost 53-45.


Wallace is 5-7 and will travel to South Platte on Thursday and host Paxton on Friday.


Wauneta-Palisade


On Tuesday, the Broncos traveled to Cheylin, KS, and it was a tight game the entire game, but Wauneta-Palisade came up short, losing to the Cougars, 54-53. Mesa Cox had 25 points, nine rebounds, and five steals; Kamryn Fanning had nine points, eight rebounds, and three steals; Peyton Dyer had eight points; and Izzy Stehno had six points and 13 rebounds.


On Friday, Wauneta-Palisade hosted Hitchcock County and lost 58-43.


On Saturday, the Broncos traveled to Southwest and lost to the Roughriders 58-39.


Wauneta-Palisade is now 4-7 and will travel to Perkins County on Friday and host Garden County on Saturday.
