RPAC Girls Basketball Results as of 1/26

The majority of teams had a game prior to the RPAC tournament beginning on Friday. Check out the results from day one by clicking here. Let's dive into the results from last week! Be sure to find the updated bracket at the end of the blog.



Alma


The #2 seed on the East Cardinals opened the RPAC Tournament against #7 Hi-Line and earned the 58-19 win. Tierston Moore led Alma with 21 points, Kamryn Scott scored 14, and Kamri Neal had nine.


Alma is now 14-3 and will face #3 Southern Valley at 7:30 P.M. CT at Southwest on Monday.


Arapahoe


Arapahoe's defense is still clicking as they traveled to Axtell on Tuesday and posted 35 rebounds, 23 defensive, and 22 steals as a team. The Warriors defeated the Wildcats 43-21. Sawyer Shafer had 10 points, six rebounds, two assists, and four steals; Emma Strand had nine points, six rebounds, and two steals; Suttyn Shafer had seven points, three rebounds, and three steals; and Taytym Roskop had eight steals.


#4 on the East Arapahoe defeated #5 Cambridge on Friday 52-30 to start their run in the RPAC Tournament. The key was their defense again, as they tallied 27 steals as a team. Suttyn Shafer tallied 23 points, four assists, and seven steals; Clara Hilker had 11 points; Cadence Carpenter had five steals while Sawyer Shafer added four steals.


The Warriors improve to 12-5 and will face #1 Southwest at 6:00 P.M. CT on Monday at Southwest.


Bertrand


Bertrand hosted Maywood-Hayes Center on Tuesday and fell to the Wolves, 42-13. This was an RPAC Rundown Featured Matchup, and you can read more about this game by clicking here.


The East #6 seeded Vikings battled #3 Southern Valley on Friday in the RPAC Tournament. Bertrand was down two starters and struggled to get the ball in the basket as they lost to the Eagles, 60-11. Shelby Schoene had four points, and Adrian Sand scored three.


Bertrand is 6-11 on the year and will face #7 Hi-Line on Monday in Southwest at 4:30 P.M. CT.


Cambridge


Cambridge hosted Wauneta-Palisade on Tuesday and added another win to their win streak, which totaled four in a row. The Trojans defeated the Broncos 50-38. Mallory Springer had 20 points and 13 rebounds; Brooklyn Holtze added eight points and four assists; and Elisabeth Kubik had eight rebounds and five steals.


On Friday, the #5 in the East Trojans met up with #4 Arapahoe, and their winning streak snapped, as they lost 52-30. Kubik scored seven points, four rebounds, and three steals, and Holtze scored seven.


Cambridge will face #8 Medicine Valley at 3:00 P.M. CT in Southwest on Monday.





Dundy County Stratton


The Tigers hosted Wallace on Tuesday, earning the 66-33 win over the Wildcats. Abi Spargo posted 26 points and nine rebounds; Clara Spargo added 13 points, eight rebounds, four assists, and three steals; Emily Schack added eight rebounds; Ava Lutz had four steals; and Lexie Yrkoski had six assists and three steals.


On Friday, the #2 Tigers drew the #7 seed Wallace. The games were nearly identical as DCS defeated the Wildcats 67-21. A. Spargo led the team with 13 points, 18 rebounds, five assists, and six steals; C. Spargo had 12 points and five rebounds; Kimberly Escobar had 11 points and four steals, and Schack added 10 points and four steals.


DCS is now 12-3 on the year and will face #3 Paxton at 7:30 P.M. CT in Maywood on Monday.



Hi-Line


Hi-Line hosted Overton on Tuesday and lost to the Eagles 62-36. Ellaray Koch had 18 points, five rebounds, and two steals, and Bentley Stubbs added nine points and six rebounds. Olivia Wall also tallied nine rebounds.


On Friday, the East #7 seeded Bulls faced #2 Alma. The Cardinals got the better of Hi-Line in this one, as they lost 58-19. Stubbs led the team with eight points and eight rebounds, and Koch scored six points.


Hi-Line is now 2-14 and will face #6 Bertrand at 4:30 P.M. CT in Southwest on Monday.


Hitchcock County


The Falcons traveled to Paxton on Tuesday to take on the Tigers and went home with a 45-42 win. Madysen Carlson had 19 points and 17 rebounds, while Raegan Hagan had 14 points, five rebounds, three assists, and four steals.


Hitchcock County was the #5 seed on the West and faced #4 Maxwell on Friday. The Falcons fell to the Wildcats, 55-26. Madysen Carlson led Hitchcock County with 10 points and Asia Homma with seven.


Hitchcock County is now 6-8 and will face #8 Sutherland at 3:00 P.M. CT at Maywood on Monday.


Maxwell


Maxwell had a full week as they began the week on the road against Brady on Tuesday. The Wildcats came away with a 57-51 win. Jenna Miller had 15 points, 12 rebounds, and three steals; Madelyn Flock had 11 points and four rebounds; Kristyn Cheek posted eight points, 10 rebounds, three assists, and three steals; and Emory Christensen had eight points and five rebounds.


On Thursday, Maxwell traveled to Sandhills Valley to take on the Mavericks, and they came away with a 62-45 win. It was a record-setting night for the Wildcats as they set a new school record for 3-pointers in a game as a team with nine, while Flock set the new individual record for 3-pointers in a game with seven. Flock had 25 points, four assists, and two steals; Christensen had 11 points, three rebounds, and four steals; Miller had 10 points and three assists; and Cheek added nine points, 10 rebounds, five assists, and four steals.


Maxwell earned the #4 seed for the RPAC Tournament on the West side and faced #5 Hitchcock County. Maxwell ran away with the 55-26 win. Cheek had 19 points, six rebounds, and three steals; Miller had 11 points, five rebounds, and five assists, and Christensen totaled 11 points and 10 rebounds.


Maxwell improves to 9-8 and will face #1 Maywood-Hayes Center on Monday at 6:00 P.M. in Maywood.



Maywood-Hayes Center


Maywood-Hayes Center traveled to Bertrand to take on the Vikings on Tuesday before they began the RPAC Tournament. The Wolves defeated the Vikings 42-13. This was an RPAC Rundown Featured Matchup, and you can read more about this game by clicking here.


MHC was the #1 seed in the West and faced #8 Sutherland on Friday in the first round of the RPAC Tournament. The Wolves defeated the Sailors 64-8. Caylie Softley had 16 points, six rebounds, and six steals; Karissa Stengel had 12 points, seven rebounds, and four assists; and Reagan Stengel had 11 points, five rebounds, and three steals.


The Wolves advance to take on #4 Maxwell on Monday at 6:00 P.M. CT in Maywood on Monday.


Medicine Valley


Medicine Valley hosted Sutherland on Tuesday. The Raiders got out to a lead and held off a second-half Sailor surge to secure the 46-33 win. Remmi Stout had 21 points, 12 rebounds, eight steals, and four blocks; Haylie Gustafson had 14 points and eight rebounds; Teejay Hildebrandt added eight rebounds and four assists, while Oakley Stout added eight points, six rebounds, and five steals.


The Raiders are the #8 seed in the East and faced #1 Southwest on Friday. Southwest defeated Medicine Valley 46-18. R. Stout had eight points, eight rebounds, and five blocks, and Jordiya Phillips added eight rebounds and three steals.


Medicine Valley is now 2-13 on the year and will face #5 Cambridge on Monday at 3:00 P.M. CT in Southwest.




Paxton


Paxton hosted Hitchcock County on Tuesday, and after a slow start, the Tigers couldn't make up the gap, losing to the Falcons, 45-42. Jordan Clouse led Paxton with 15 points, and Ella Fote added 13 points and nine rebounds.


On Friday, during the first round of the RPAC Tournament, the #3-seeded Tigers took on the #6-seeded Broncos of Wauneta-Palisade. Paxton defeated the Broncos 53-39. Clouse had 17 points, Fote had 14 points and 13 rebounds, and Jakcee Mitchell had 10 rebounds.


Paxton is now 8-6 and will face #2 Dundy County Stratton on Monday in Maywood at 6:30 P.M. CT.



Southern Valley


Southern Valley is the #3 seed in the East and faced #6 Bertrand on Friday during the first round of the RPAC Tournament. The Eagles earned the win by a score of 60-11. Adi Hunt had 17 points, five rebounds, and four steals; Tori Bose had 14 points and seven rebounds.


Southern Valley is 13-3 on the year and advances to take on #2 Alma on Monday at Southwest at 7:30 P.M. CT.


Southwest


Southwest began the RPAC Tournament on Friday as the #1 seed and played #8 Medicine Valley. The Roughriders got the 46-18 win. 18 points for Aspen Billeter to lead Southwest, and Allison VanPelt had 14 points.


Southwest will face #4 Arapahoe on Monday at home at 6:00 P.M. CT.



Sutherland


Sutherland traveled to Medicine Valley on Tuesday to take on the Raiders and was defeated 46-33. Eliana Dyer had nine points and nine rebounds, and Gracyn Elfeldt had seven points and five rebounds. Mahala Vasquez added six steals.


The #8 seed on the West is what the Sailors earned and faced #1 Maywood-Hayes Center on Friday. Sutherland lost to the Wolves 64-8 and was led by Gracyn Elfeldt, who had four points, and Mahla Vasquez and Leah Harper, who had two.


Sutherland is now 3-12 and will face #5 Hitchcock County on Monday at 3:00 P.M. CT in Maywood.


Wallace


Wallace traveled to Dundy County Stratton on Tuesday to take on the Tigers and lost 66-33.


On Friday, the Wildcats were the #7 seed in the West and faced #2 Dundy County Stratton. It was a similar story for Wallace as they fell to the Tigers again, but this time by a score of 67-21. Kaley Sauser had six for Wallace. Devin Giesselmann and Elliana Robertson had four.


Wallace is now 5-11 and will face #6 Wauneta-Palisade on Monday in Maywood at 4:30 P.M. CT.


Wauneta-Palisade


Wauneta-Palisade traveled to Cambridge on Tuesday and lost to the Trojans 50-38. Kamryn Fanning had 15 points, five rebounds, and four steals, and Emma Acton had 10 points.


The Broncos were the #6 seed in the West and faced #3 Paxton on Friday in the first round of the RPAC Tournament. Wauneta-Palisade lost to the Tigers 53-39 and was led by Izzy Stehno, who had 18 points, and Kamryn Fanning had 13.


Wauneta-Palisade is now 5-10 on the year and will face #7 Wallace on Monday in Maywood at 4:30 P.M. CT.
