RPAC Girls Basketball Results as of 12/22

We have entered the NSAA Five-Day Practice and Competition Moratorium, which runs from the 22nd through the 26th. Where did the time go? Let's dive into last week's results.



Alma


Alma traveled to Southwest on Tuesday to take on the Roughriders. The Cardinals trailed in the game from the jump and made a run at the end but came up short, 45-36. Tierston Moore posted 12 points, seven rebounds, and three steals; Kamryn Scott had eight points, five rebounds, three steals, and two blocks; and Chayse Molzahn had eight points, eight rebounds, two steals, and two blocks.


The Cardinals will host Red Cloud on Saturday and won big, 74-36.


Alma enters the break with a record of 5-2. The Cardinals are off until January 3rd, when they travel to Medicine Valley and host Superior on January 4th.


Arapahoe


On Tuesday, Arapahoe hosted Northern Valley, KS, and got a huge 68-21 win. The Warriors had 31 steals in the game as a team. Clara Hilker had 18 points and 10 rebounds; Suttyn Shafer had 15 points, two assists, and five steals; and Desi Farner led the team with seven steals.


On Thursday, they hosted Wilcox-Hildreth and fell in a low-scoring affair, 29-18. Cadence Carpenter led the team with eight points and six rebounds.


On Friday, Arapahoe traveled to take on the Roughriders. The Warriors lost to Southwest, 68-44. This was an RPAC Rundown Featured Matchup, and you can read more about that game by clicking here.


The Warriors have a record of 5-3 as they enter the break and are off until they host the Bob Braithwait Holiday Tournament on December 27th and 28th.


Bertrand


Bertrand traveled to Hi-Line on Tuesday, took the lead early, and kept their foot on the gas as they took the 53-26 win. The Vikings had 26 steals as a team. Shelby Schoene had 14 points, three points, and three steals; Brooklyn Evans had 12 points, three assists, and seven steals; Addison Andersen had eight points, seven rebounds, and five steals; and Adrian Sand had eight points and three steals.


Bertrand traveled to take on Elm Creek on Friday. Bertrand fell to the Buffaloes, 60-28.


On Saturday, the Vikings traveled to Blue Hill and lost 44-24.


Bertrand is 3-3 as they enter the break. The Vikings are off until they head to the Elm Creek Holiday Tournament on December 30th and 31st.



Cambridge


Cambridge traveled to Loomis on Tuesday to take on the Wolves. The Trojans trailed as they went into the half, 17-14, but made adjustments at the half to come back to win the game, 37-31. Mallory Springer had a big game, tallying 14 points, grabbing 15 boards, three assists, and posting four of the team's five blocks in the game. Aspen Webb added nine points, and Emmerie Tomlin added six points and 10 rebounds.


The Trojans hosted Cozad on Thursday and came up short in a close contest, 40-34.


Cambridge enters the break with a 2-4 record and is off until the Pleasanton Holiday Tournament on December 27th and 28th.


Dundy County Stratton


The Tigers hosted Wauneta-Palisade on Tuesday and got the 41-34 win over the Broncos. This was an RPAC Rundown Featured Matchup, and you can read more about the game by clicking here.


On Saturday, the Tigers hosted Perkins County and earned the 46-40 win.


DCS is now 5-2 and will be off until the Axtell Holiday Tournament on December 27th and 28th.


Hi-Line


The Bulls hosted Bertrand on Tuesday and lost to the Vikings, 53-26. Ellaray Koch had 10 points and three rebounds, and Shelby Jurjens had five points, nine rebounds, and three blocks.


Hi-Line hosted Franklin on Thursday and earned their first win of the season. The Bulls defeated the Flyers 53-43. Koch had 22 points, five rebounds, four assists, and five steals; Olivia Wall had 12 points, 12 rebounds, and four steals; Bentley Stubbs had 11 points and 13 rebounds; and Shelby Jurjens added 10 rebounds.


On Friday, Gibbon came to town and got a big 66-46 win. Koch had 21 points, four assists, and five steals; Wall had 15 points, 10 rebounds, and three steals; Lauryn Ruda had 12 points, seven rebounds, four assists, three steals, and two blocks; Stubbs added nine points, six rebounds, and four steals; and Jurjens added 11 rebounds.


The Bulls are now 2-6 and are off until they host Lawrence-Nelson on December 28th.


Hitchcock County


The Falcons hosted Medicine Valley on Thursday, and Hitchcock County won 63-19. This was an RPAC Rundown Featured Matchup, and you can read more about this game by clicking here.


On Friday, Hitchcock County traveled to Rawlins County, KS. The Falcons lost to the Buffaloes 50-38.


Hitchcock County is 3-3 and is off until January 3rd when they host Anselmo-Merna.



Maxwell


On Tuesday, Brady traveled to Maxwell to take on the Wildcats. The Eagles defeated them 52-44. Kristyn Cheek posted 17 points, nine rebounds, and four steals, and Madelyn Flock had nine points, three rebounds, and three steals. Jenna Miller added eight assists and six steals.


On Friday, Maxwell traveled to take on Paxton and came away from a 42-41 win. Miller had 14 points and seven rebounds, and Emory Christensen had nine points, eight rebounds, and four steals.


The Tigers are 3-3 and are off until they host their Holiday Tournament on December 27th and 28th.


Maywood-Hayes Center


On Tuesday, the Wolves hosted Sutherland and won the game 67-6. MHC had 23 steals in the game as a team. Caylie Softley had a big game with 25 points, three assists, and seven steals; Karissa Stengel had nine points, 10 rebounds, and four assists; Reagan Stengel had eight points and three steals; and Ayleen Hernandez had eight points, five rebounds, and four steals.


On Thursday, MHC traveled to take on Brady and got the 62-17 win. Softley had 25 points, five rebounds, and six steals; Blayklee Farr had 11 points and four rebounds; and Karissa Stengel had seven points, 14 rebounds, seven assists, and three steals.


The Wolves are 6-1 and are off until December 28th, when they travel to Paxton for a Holiday Tournament.



Medicine Valley


The Raiders traveled to Hitchcock County on Thursday to take on the Falcons. This was an RPAC Rundown Featured Matchup, and you can read more about this game by clicking here.


On Friday, Medicine Valley hosted South Loup, came away with a win, and earned their first win of the season. The Raiders earned the 43-22 victory. As a team, the Raiders came away with 25 steals. Remmi Stout had 20 points, six rebounds, and four blocks; Haylie Gustafson had 14 points, eight rebounds, and seven steals; and Kamree Elsten had four rebounds, two blocks, and eight steals.


Medicine Valley is 1-6 on the year and is off until they host Alma on January 3rd.


Paxton


On Tuesday, the Tigers hosted Perkins County and earned a 63-39 win. Emmalee Nicholson had 17 points, 13 rebounds, two steals, and two blocks, and Ella Fote had 17 points, 11 rebounds, and three steals. Jaleigh Hansen added four steals, and Jakcee Mitchell added six rebounds.


On Friday, Paxton hosted Maxwell, and this game came down to the wire, but the Tigers came away with the 42-41 win. Nicholson had 14 points and five rebounds, and Hansen had 10 points, three assists, and four steals.


Paxton enters the break with a record of 4-2 and is off until December 28th, when they host Maywood-Hayes Center, and December 31st when they host Garden County for a Holiday Tournament.


Southern Valley


On Tuesday, Southern Valley hosted Norton, KS, and the Eagles defeated the Bluejays 56-26. Tori Bose had 12 points, three rebounds, five assists, and five blocks; Vanesa Aguayo had 11 points; Brynn Baily had 11 points, seven rebounds, and three steals; and Adi Hunt had nine points and 12 steals.


On Thursday, The Eagles traveled to take on Ravenna and earned the 59-26 win. Hunt had 19 points, six rebounds, five assists, and six steals; Bose had 13 points, seven rebounds, and four steals; and Bailey added eight points.


On Saturday, Loomis came to town, and the Eagles took care of business, defeating the Wolves 59-11. Hunt had 21 points, four rebounds, and eight steals; 15 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, and four steals; and Baily added nine points.


Southern Valley is 6-2 on the year and is off until the Arapahoe Holiday Tournament on December 27th and 28th.


Southwest


On Tuesday, Alma came to town, and the Roughriders took care of business, earning the 45-36 victory. Kyra Nelms posted 13 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, and three steals, while Aspen Billeter added nine points and 13 rebounds.


On Friday, Southwest hosted Arapahoe and got the 68-44 win. Billeter tied Caylin Barnett's school record for points in a game with 29 points. This was an RPAC Rundown Featured Matchup, and you can read more about that game by clicking here.


Southwest is 6-1 and is off until they host Franklin on January 3rd and travel to Southern Valley on January 4th.



Sutherland


On Tuesday, the Sailors traveled to Maywood-Hayes Center and lost 67-6.


Sutherland bounced back on Thursday with a solid 43-39 win over Wallace. Gracyn Elfeldt had 17 points, four rebounds, and four assists, and Eliana Dyer had eight points, eight rebounds, and three steals.


On Saturday, Sutherland traveled to Elm Creek to take on Elba, earning another win before the break. They defeated the Bluejays, 42-38.


The Sailors are 3-5 on the year, and they are off until January 7th when they host Hyannis, travel to Sandhills/Thedford on the 10th, and host Perkins County on the 11th.



Wallace


Wallace traveled to Sutherland on Thursday and lost a close game, 43-39.


On Saturday, they hit the road to take on Potter-Dix and got a nice bounce-back win, 52-33.


Wallace is 3-4 and is off until the Perkins County Holiday Tournament that runs from December 31st through January 2nd.


Wauneta-Palisade


On Tuesday, the Broncos traveled to Dundy County Stratton and lost 41-43. This was an RPAC Rundown Featured Matchup, and you can read more about the game by clicking here.


On Friday, Wauneta-Palisade traveled to South Platte and got a bounce-back win, 46-41. Mesa Cox had 17 points, five assists, and three steals; Cheyenne Parrish had nine points, four rebounds, and four steals; and Kamryn Fanning had eight points and eight rebounds.


The Broncos enter the break with a record of 4-3 and are off until they travel to Bertrand on January 3rd.
