
Five teams earned spots in a district final match last week, and two punched their tickets for state. Check out all the results from the district final games and all the information you need for the state tournament.
Alma
The #5 Cardinals hosted #12 Brady on Friday in the D1-5 District Final. Alma was playing for a chance to qualify for the state tournament for the first time in school history. Since the 2019-2020 season, Alma has played in district finals in 2020, 2022, 2023, 2024, and now in 2025. And 2025 was the year they made it happen. The Cardinals defeated Brady 63-23. Alma had 27 rebounds, 19 assists, and 25 steals as a team. Tierston Moore had 17 points, eight rebounds, four assists, and nine steals, Kamryn Scott added 16 points, four assists, and 10 steals; Miley Whitney had 10 points, five assists, and three steals; and Chayse Molzahn had eight points and six rebounds. Alma has a record of 20-6 as they head into the state tournament. Alma is the #5 seed and will face #4 Superior on Wednesday at Pinnacle Bank Arena at 10:45 A.M. CT. This will be a rematch from January 4th. Superior defeated Alma in that game 53-34.

Dundy County Stratton
On Friday, Dundy County Stratton earned the #13 seed and faced #4 Dorchester in the Class D2-4 district final in Holdrege. The Tigers played hard and battled but ultimately came up short, 46-44. That loss ended their season with a record of 16-7.

Maywood-Hayes Center
Maywood-Hayes Center was the #12 seed in C2 and traveled to take on #5 Homer. On Friday afternoon, the Wolves battled but lost 65-55. MHC ended their season with a record of 21-6.
Southern Valley
Southern Valley was the #9 seed and faced #8 Yutan in the C2-8 district final. It was a tight back-and-forth game until the final quarter when Yutan could create some space by outscoring the Eagles 20-10. Southern Valley lost to Yutan 51-41 to end their season with a 20-6 record. Adi Hunt had 11 points, Tori Bose had 10 points and eight rebounds, and Brynn Baily had nine points.
Southwest
Southwest earned the #3 seed and hosted #14 Pleasanton in the D1-3 district final. After the first quarter, the Roughriders jumped out to a 20-10 lead and kept their foot on the gas as they cruised to a 64-42 victory. With that win, Southwest was able to qualify for the state tournament for the first time in Southwest's school history.
Southwest enters the state tournament with a 23-1 record. The #3 Roughriders will face #6 Cedar Catholic at 7:45 P.M. CT on Wednesday at Devaney.
