I tell you what, this Southern Valley/Alma Softball Team is picking up steam as the season rolls on. They are playing excellent softball and keep on winning. This past week they had a pair of games and won both.
First, they played Lexington on Tuesday. That was an RPAC Rundown Featured Matchup in which they won 12-0. You can read the game story here.
The Saints also played against Cozad on Thursday and won a close one, 9-7. The Saints started strong like they have many times before. They were down 1-0 in the home half of the first. They scored three runs to go up 3-1. Cozad answered nicely with three runs of their own to go up 4-3 in the top of the second.
After that, a run wasn't scored until the home half of the third, Southern Valley/Alma got a run and it was tied up at 4-4. Cozad again answered with two runs and went up 6-4 after 3.5 innings.
In the bottom of the fourth, the Saints scored four runs and reclaimed the lead at 8-6. Both teams scored a run in the sixth inning, but the Saints closed it out in the top of the seventh inning.
Southern Valley/Alma is now 12-5 and will play at CCV in Cario on Tuesday and at Hershey on Thursday.
