The Southern Valley/Alma Saints had a trio of games this past week and went 2-1. First, they played FCEMF and fell 10-0. It was 0-0 through two innings before FCEMF went for four runs in the top off of the third. They scored another four in the top half of the fourth.
FCEMF scored two more in the fifth inning to go up 10-0 and the Saints didn't score in the bottom half, ending the game. Kaitlyn Bradley was 2-3 for the Saints. Brynn Bailey had a hit in the game too.
The Saints hit the road on Thursday for a pair of games versus Chase County. Southern Valley/Alma won the first game 17-0 in three innings.
The Saints took no time getting going as they scored three runs in the first, four in the second, and 10 in the third innings. They drew five walks and had seven hits. Ava Dunse was 1-3 with a pair of RBI's, Natalee Holste was 1-3 with two RBI's, Kaitlyn Bradley went 1-2 with two RBI's, Mikah Shultz had two RBI's and two hits, and Riley Aerni had an RBI too.
In the circle Schutlz went two innings allowing one hit, and two walks and had four strikeouts. Hayden Deyle went one inning and allowed a hit, one walk, and had two strikeouts.
In the second game, they handled Chase County 21-4. They won in three innings again. They scored 10 runs in the first, and Chase County countered with three runs. In the second, they scored seven more runs did the Saints, and after two innings it was 17-4. Southern Valley/Alma put across four more and made it 21-4 to close things out.
As a team, they had nine hits and 17 walks. Deyle was 2-3 with two RBI's, Dunse was 2-3 with a pair of RBI's, Holste was 0-4 but had an RBI, Bradley went 2-3 with two RBI's, Alex Meyers, had an RBI, Amy Luke had an excellent game with two hits and three RBI's, Beth Crawford was 1-1 with an RBI, and Sydney Baker had an RBI.
Deyle was good in the circle going two innings allowing two hits, one earned run, and three strikeouts. Aerni went an inning, one earned run, two hits, and two strikeouts.
The Saints are 10-5 and will face Lexington at home on Tuesday and Cozad at home on Thursday.
