What an excellent week for track meets, the weather was great, and records were broken. We are about halfway through the track season, which is absolutely crazy to think about. Check out the results from last week!
Dundy County Stratton Invite, 4/8
On Tuesday, it was a day in Benkelman as Dundy County Stratton hosted their home invite. Six RPAC teams were in attendance: Cambridge, Dundy County Stratton, Maywood-Hayes Center, Southwest, Sutherland, and Wauneta-Palisade. 13 new meet records were set, and 10 went to an RPAC team. No team scores were kept.

In the 100-meter dash, Adi Hunt of Southern Valley placed 1st with a new meet record time of 11.95.
Two records were broken in the 200-meter dash. Hunt of Southern Valley placed 1st, setting a new meet record with her time of 24.73, and Clara Spargo of DCS placed 2nd and set a new Class D State Record, pending approval from the state, with her time of 24.86. That record was the oldest Class D Girls Record, which was held by Karol McKenzie of Elwood in 1975 with a time of 25.20.
In the 400-meter dash, Hunt of Southern Valley set a new meet record with a time of 56.60 which placed her 1st.
In the 300-meter hurdles, Suttyn Shafer placed 1st with a time of 49.59, and Anastasia Gallegos of Southwest set a new school record with her 2nd place time of 50.11.
In the 4x100-meter relay, DCS placed 1st and set a new meet record with their time of 50.05, which was run by Kennedy Bailey, Abi Spargo, Emma Baldeh, and C. Spargo.
In the 4x400-meter relay, DCS set a new meet record with their 1st place time of 4:11.73, which was run by Emily Schack, A. Spargo, Baldeh, and C. Spargo.
In shot put, Bailey of DCS placed 1st and set a new meet record with a throw of 41'2.5", and in discus, Bailey set a new meet record with her 1st place throw of 131'4".
In pole vault, Ambie Custard of Southwest placed 2nd with a vault of 9'6", and Taytym Roskop of Arapahoe and Alyssa Koch of Southwest finished in a 3-way tie for 4th with vaults of 8'6". Roskop was able to tie the school record with that vault.
