RPAC VOLLEYBALL RESULTS AS OF 10/23


The RPAC Volleyball Tournament continued last Monday night from two locations. On the East side, in Cambridge and on the West side in Hayes Center. Here's a quick rundown.


EAST DIVISION


Southern Valley and Medicine Valley were the first to match up in Cambridge and it was the Eagles who prevailed. They didn't take much time as they took the first two sets quickly and won 2-0.


Then it Arapahoe and Alma who competed on the court and it was the Cardinals who took the match. They won two sets to none.


Then we had a battle between the Cambridge Trojans and the Southwest Roughriders in the semifinal matchup. It was Southwest who won in five sets after dropping the first two, 25-18 and 25-17, then the Roughriders reeled off three wins with the scores reading 25-21, 25-14, and 15-12. A fantastic match between these two rivals.


WEST DIVISION


On the West side, Hitchcock County and Maxwell took on one another to begin the day. It was Hitchcock who won two sets to one in the contest.


Paxton took care of Wauneta-Palisade quickly, winning in two sets. Audrey Holm had a nice match with 11 kills.


Maywood-Hayes Center then battled against Wallace in the semifinals. The Wolves swept the Wildcats winning 25-19,-25-18, and 25-11.


Tuesday's Consolation and Championship Results

In the consolation match last Tuesday, it was Cambridge who won over Wallace in three sets, 25-16, 25-17, and 25-20. Cambridge moves to 26-2 on the season, the Wallace Wildcats are now 25-5 on the year.


In the championship game, it took four sets, but the Wolves of Maywood-Hayes Center won their third straight RPAC Title. Southwest took the first set 25-23, but then Maywood-Hayes Center took the next three, 25-22, 25-23, and 28-26. As mentioned, the Wolves win their third straight RPAC Volleyball Title and they are 23-1 on the year now. Southwest, the runner-up is now 24-6.

 

Districts start this week, here is an update on where teams stand and what's to come.

Alma

Alma heads into the D1-9 Sub-District in Axtell this week as the #2 seed and will take on #3 Loomis at 6:30 P.M. The Cardinals have a record of 20-9.


Arapahoe

Arapahoe heads into the D1-11 Sub-District in Cambridge as the #3 seed and will take on #2 Maywood-Hayes Center at 7:00 P.M. The Warriors have a record of 11-13.


Bertrand

Bertrand heads into the D2-8 Sub-District in Overton as the #5 seed and will take on #4 Brady at 4:00 P.M. The Vikings have a record of 8-17.


Cambridge

Cambridge heads into the D1-11 Sub-District as the host school and the #1 seed where they will take on #4 Hi-Line at 5:30 P.M. The Trojans have a record of 26-2.


Dundy County Stratton

Dundy County Stratton heads into the D2-9 Sub-District at Wallace as the #5 seed and will take on #4 Hitchcock County at 4:00 P.M. The Tigers have a record of 0-27.


Hitchcock County

Hitchcock County heads into the D2-9 Sub-District at Wallace as the #4 seed and will take on #5 Dundy County Stratton at 4:00 P.M. The Falcons have a record of 8-21.


Maxwell

Maxwell heads into the D1-12 Sub-District at South Platte as the #5 seed and will take on #4 Sandhills Valley at 3:00 P.M. (MT). The Wildcats have a record of 5-24.


Maywood-Hayes Center

Maywood-Hayes Center head into the D1-11 Sub-District as the #2 seed and will take on #4 Arapahoe at 7:00 P.M. The Wolves have a record of 23-1.


Medicine Valley

Medicine Valley heads into the D2-8 Sub-District at Overton as the #3 seed and will take on #2 Anselmo-Merna at 5:30 P.M. The Raiders have a record of 12-10.


Paxton

Paxton heads into the D2-9 Sub-District at Wallace with the #2 seed and will take on #3 Wauneta-Palisade at 5:30 P.M. The Tigers have a record of 21-6.


Southern Valley

Southern Valley heads into the C2-11 Sub-District at Southwest with the #3 seed and will take on #2 South Loup at 6:00 P.M. The Eagles have a record of 13-15.


Southwest

Southwest heads into the C2-11 Sub-District as the host and the #1 seed and will take on the winner of #4 Sutherland and #5 North Platte St. Pat's at 7:30 P.M. The Roughriders have a record of 24-6.


Wallace

Wallace heads into the D2-9 Sub-District as the host and #1 seed and will take on the winner of #4 Hitchcock County and #5 Dundy County Stratton at 7:00 P.M. The Wildcats have a record of 25-5.


Wauneta-Palisade

Wauneta-Palisade hosted Brady last Friday before heading into subs. They were able to take down Brady in five sets winning the match 3-2. Peyton Cox posted 19 kills while Cali Cox posted 16 kills and GraCee Goings had 15 kills. They head into the D2-9 Sub-District in Wallace as the #3 seed and will take on #2 Paxton at 5:30 P.M. The Broncos have a record of 10-16.
