Some teams had big weeks while others were lighter last week. They are making their final push for seedings for the RPAC Tournament which will be coming up on October 17th, 21st, and 22nd. Stay tuned for more information when it becomes available. But, let's dive into the results from last week!
Alma
The Cardinals had a pair of triangular this week as they hosted one on Tuesday with Red Cloud and Franklin and then traveled to Southwest on Thursday for matches with the Roughriders and Overton.
In their match against Red Cloud on Tuesday, Alma got the 2-0 sweep with set scores of 26-24 and 25-20. Tierston Moore had 10 kills, Kamryn Scott had nine digs, and Miley Whitney had 25 assists.
Against Franklin, the Cardinals got the 2-0 sweep with set scores of 25-16 and 25-14. Chayse Molzahn led the team with seven kills and Whitney had 10 digs and 19 assists.
On Thursday, Alma traveled to Southwest for a triangular with Overton and Southwest.
Against Overton, Alma was swept 2-0 with set scores of 25-18 and 25-14. Moore had nine kills, Scott had eight digs, and Whitney had 14 assists.
Against Southwest, the Cardinals were swept 2-0 with set scores of 25-6 and 26-24. Molzahn and Moore each posted four kills, while Molzahn added four blocks and Whitney had four digs and seven assists.
Alma is now 16-7 and will host Southern Valley on Tuesday and SEM on Thursday.
Arapahoe
Arapahoe traveled to Loomis on Tuesday for a dual and were swept, 3-0, with set scores of 25-20, 25-13, and 25-10. Clara Hilker had four kills and three aces, Desi Farner had 10 digs, and Sawyer Shafer had eight assists.
On Thursday, the Warriors traveled to Medicine Valley for a triangular with the Raiders and Paxton.
Against Paxton, Arapahoe won the match, 2-0, with set scores of 25-18 and 25-18. Emma Strand and Farner each had seven kills, Rylee Bahe had three aces and 12 assists, while Farner added 12 digs, Suttyn Shafer had 11 digs, and Hilker had 10 digs.
Against Medicine Valley, Arapahoe took set one 25-19, dropped set two 25-18, and won the third set 25-10 to win the match, 2-1. Farner had six kills, four aces, and 11 digs, Bahe had three aces and 12 digs, and Hilker had three aces and four blocks.
Arapahoe is now 6-12 and will host Axtell on Tuesday and Northern Valley, KS on Thursday.
Bertrand
The Vikings had a single dual this last week on Tuesday with Axtell. Bertrand traveled to take on the Wildcats and found the winner in five sets. Bertrand took set one 27-25, dropped sets two and three 25-18 and 25-19, won the fourth set 25-13, and then came up short in set five 15-11 to fall in the match, 3-2. Brooklyn Evans had 18 kills and 39 digs, Shelby Schoene had 14 kills, three aces, six blocks, and 25 digs, Katelyn Evans had 11 kills, Addy Sand had 14 digs, Livia Philips had 28 digs, and Addison Andersen had 25 digs and 51 assists.
Bertrand falls to 11-8 and will travel to Loomis on Monday for a triangular with the Wolves and Doniphan-Trumbull and will travel to Ansley-Litchfield for a triangular with the Spartans and Wilcox-Hildreth.
Cambridge
Cambridge traveled to McCook on Tuesday for a triangular with the Bison and Cozad.
Against Cozad, Cambridge took set one 25-22, dropped set two 25-20, and won the third set 25-15 to win the match, 2-1. Brooklyn Holtze had 15 kills, Mallory Springer had four aces and 23 digs, and Annabelle Taylor added three blocks.
The Trojans swept McCook, 2-0, with set scores of 25-19 and 25-19. Holtze and Erin Johnson each had six kills in the match. Chloe Gooden had 10 digs and Springer had 10 digs and 13 assists.
On Thursday, Cambridge hosted Maywood-Hayes Center for a dual and earned the 3-0 sweep with set scores of 25-8, 25-20, and 25-20. Johnson had 21 kills, Holtze had 20 kills, Joslyn Holtze had 16 digs, Elisabeth Kubik had 11 digs, and Springer had 47 assists.
Cambridge improved to 13-7 and will travel to Maxwell on Tuesday for a triangular with the Wildcats and Southloup and travel to Hi-Line on Thursday for a dual.
Dundy County Stratton
The Tigers hosted a triangular with Northern Valley, KS, and Wauneta-Palisade on Tuesday. The Tigers earned the 2-0 sweep over both teams and this was an RPAC Rundown Featured Matchup. You can read more about these matches here.
At the Decatur Community, KS tournament on Saturday, DCS took 1st place in the tournament.
The Tigers defeated Rawlins County, KS 2-1, defeated St. Francis, KS 2-1, fell to Decatur Community, KS 2-0, and then defeated Hoxie, KS 2-1.
Dundy County Stratton is now 12-7 and will host a triangular on Tuesday with South Platte and Wallace.
Hi-Line
Hi-Line had a light load last week as their only match was on Thursday when they traveled to Wallace for a dual. It was a solid match as it took all five sets. The Bulls took sets one and two, 25-22 and 25-20, Wallace took sets three and four, 25-21 and 25-21, and then Wallace came out on top in set five, 15-8, to take the match, 3-2. Allison Wall had 12 kills and six blocks, Lauryn Ruda had 10 kills and five blocks, Malia Viter had six blocks, Ellaray Koch had three blocks, 19 digs, and 33 assists, Rilee Schutz had 25 digs, Bentley Stubbs had 24 digs, and Allie Lauby had 12 digs.
Hi-Line is 6-15 on the year and will host SEM on Tuesday, host Cambridge on Thursday, and travel to Arapahoe on Friday.
Hitchcock County
Hitchcock County hosted Rawlins County, KS on Monday and won sets one and two, 27-25 and 25-22, dropped set three 25-23, and won set four 25-19 to take the match, 3-1. Riley Hagan and Madysen Carlson each had 13 kills in the match while Kaiah Johnson added 11 kills. Asia Homma had four aces and Carlson added six blocks. Jill McArthur had 25 digs, Homma had 19 digs, Hagan had 17 digs, and Johnson had 17 digs. McArthur had 21 assists and Reese Tines added 13 assists.
The Falcons traveled to Oakley, KS for a tournament where they faced Cheylin-Bird City, KS, Triplains/Brewster, KS, Oakley, KS, Hays, KS, and Ulysses, KS.
Against Hays, Hitchcock County was swept, 2-0, with set scores of 25-9 and 25-17. Hagan and Johnson each had three kills. Hagan added five digs and Wood had five assists.
The Falcons swept Cheylin-Bird City, 2-0, with set scores of 25-22 and 25-23. Hagan and Carlson each had seven kills and Carlson added four blocks and Hagan added 11 digs. McArthur and Wood each had 12 assists in the match.
Ulysses took set one from Hitchcock County, 25-17, but the Falcons responded and took sets two and three, 26-24 and 25-23, to take the match, 2-1. Johnson had 11 kills and 12 digs and Carlson had 10 kills and four blocks. Homma had 21 digs, Hagan had 16 digs, Tines had 10 digs and 15 assists, McArthur had 17 digs and 14 assists.
Hitchcock County was swept by Oakley, 2-0, with set scores of 25-14 and 25-20. Johnson had eight kills, Carlson had three blocks, Homma had 10 digs, Tines had five assists, and McArthur had 18 digs and five assists.
Against Triplains/Brewster, the Falcons got the 2-0 sweep with set scores of 25-12 and 25-13. Hitchcock County had 14 aces as a team and Hagan, Lailah Swanson, Johnson, and Homma each posted three aces. Carlson had 10 kills, Hagan had three digs, and McArthur had seven assists.
The Falcons are 10-13 and will travel to Colby, KS on Tuesday for a quad with Rawlins County, KS, Goodland, KS, and Decatur Community, KS as well as host Wuaneta-Palisade on Thursday.
Maxwell
Maxwell had a single dual this week and that took place on Friday when they traveled to Mullen. The Wildcats earned the 3-0 sweep with set scores of 25-13, 26-24, and 25-11.
Maxwell is now 12-8 and will host a triangular with Cambridge and South Loup on Tuesday, host Paxton on Thursday, and travel to North Platte St. Pat's on Saturday for a triangular with the Irish and Hershey.
Maywood-Hayes Center
The Wolves traveled to Wallace on Tuesday for a triangular with the Wildcats and Brady. MHC swept Wallace, 2-0, with set scores of 25-18 and 25-17 and Brady swept the Wolves, 2-0, with set scores of 25-21 and 31-29.
On Thursday, Maywood-Hayes Center traveled to Cambridge for a dual and was swept, 3-0, with set scores of 25-8, 25-20, and 25-20.
Maywood-Hayes Center is now 15-6 and will travel to Medicine Valley for a triangular on Tuesday with the Raiders and Brady and then travel to Southern Valley on Thursday for a dual.
Medicine Valley
Medicine Valley hosted a triangular with Perkins County and Sandhills Valley on Tuesday.
Against Perkins County, the Raiders were swept, 2-0, with set scores of 25-9 and 25-9. Oakley Stout, Remmi Stout, and TeeJay Hildebrandt each had one kill in the match. Kamree Elsten had four digs and Haylie Gustafson had three assists.
Against Sandhills Valley, Medicine Valley dropped set on, 25-23, and then won sets two and three with set scores of 25-22 and 25-14 to get the 2-1 win. R. Stout had 16 kills, O. Stout had five aces, Kenley Cole had three aces, Elsten had eight digs, and Gustafson had 20 assists.
On Thursday, the Raiders hosted another triangular with Paxton and Arapahoe.
Against Arapahoe, the Warriors took set one, 25-19, Medicine Valley took set two, 25-18, and Arapahoe took the final set, 25-10, and the match, 2-1. R. Stout had five kills, seven blocks, 14 digs, and three aces, and Gustafson had four blocks and 11 assists.
Against Paxton, the Raiders dropped set one, 25-9, won set two, 25-23, and then dropped set three, 25-20, and the match 2-1. R. Stout had 11 kills and 13 digs, O. Stout had 11 digs, and Gustafson had 14 assists.
Medicine Valley is now 3-14 on the year and will host a triangular on Tuesday with Brady and Maywood-Hayes Center, host Southwest on Thursday, and host Wallace on Friday.
Paxton
Paxton hosted a triangular on Tuesday with Arthur County and Sandhills/Thedford.
Against Arthur County, the Tigers got the 2-0 sweep with set scores of 25-17 and 26-24. Emmalee Nicholson and Jakcee Mitchell each had seven kills. Reece Glinn had three aces, Jaleigh Hansen had 10 digs, and Madison Hansen had 23 assists.
Against Sandhills/Thedford, Paxton dropped set one 25-23, won set two 26-24, and then dropped set three 25-21, and the match, 2-1. Nicholson had 10 kills and four aces, J. Hansen had 10 digs, and M. Hansen had 15 digs and 23 assists.
On Thursday, Paxton traveled to Medicine Valley for a triangular with the Raiders and Arapahoe.
Against Medicine Valley, the Tigers won set one, 25-9, dropped set two, 25-23, and then won set three, 25-20, and the match 2-1. J. Hansen had 10 kills, Nicholson had three aces and 10 digs, Mitchell had 13 digs, and M. Hansen had 28 assists.
Paxton was swept by Arapahoe, 2-0, with set scores of 25-18 and 25-18. Nicholson had five kills, Mitchell had 12 digs, Glinn had 10 digs, and M. Hansen had 10 assists.
Paxton is 11-12 and will host Leyton on Tuesday and travel to Maxwell on Thursday.
Southern Valley
The Eagles had a lone dual this week as they hosted Amherst on Tuesday where they were swept, 3-0, with set scores of 25-21, 25-20, and 25-18.
Southern Valley falls to 13-6 and will travel to Alma on Tuesday, host Maywood-Hayes Center on Thursday, and travel to Thayer Central on Saturday for a tournament.
Southwest
The Roughriders traveled to Decatur Community, KS for a triangular with the Red Devils and St. Francis, KS.
Against Decatur Community, Southwest got the 2-0 sweep with set scores of 25-16 and 25-15. Atleigh Nelms had eight kills, Anikka Nelms had four blocks, Aspen Billeter had three blocks and 20 assists, and Allison VanPelt had six digs.
Against St. Francis, Southwest dropped set one, 25-19, and then won sets two and three 25-11 and 25-15, to win the match, 2-1. Kyra Nelms had 12 kills and Atleigh Nelms had 10 kills, VanPelt had three aces and 15 digs, Gallegos had 11 digs, and Billeter had 32 assists.
On Thursday, Southwest hosted a triangular with Alma and Overton.
Against Overton, the Roughriders earned the 2-0 sweep with set scores of 25-22 and 25-21. K. Nelms had 11 kills and three blocks, Gallegos had five digs, Atleigh Nelms had five digs, and Billeter had four aces and 22 assists.
Against Alma, it was a 2-0 sweep for Southwest with set scores of 25-6 and 26-24. Atleigh Nelms had eight kills, VanPelt had three aces, and Billeter had eight digs and 20 assists.
Southwest is 21-0 and will travel to Chase County on Tuesday for a triangular where they will face the Longhorns and North Platte St. Pat's and then will travel to Medicine Valley on Thursday for a dual.
Sutherland
The Sailors had a pair of duals this week on Tuesday and Thursday.
On Tuesday, Sutherland hosted Garden County and was swept, 3-0, with set scores of 25-22, 25-18, and 25-20. Mahala Vasquez had 12 kills and 10 digs, Fallyn Elfeldt had three aces and 19 digs, Payten Weber had 14 digs, and Gracyn Elfeldt had 11 digs and 23 assists.
On Thursday, the Sailors traveled to North Platte St. Pats. Sutherland dropped set one 25-19, won set two 25-19, and then dropped sets three and four 25-20 and 25-22 as well as the match, 3-1.
Sutherland is now 8-14 and will host Sandhills/Thedford on Tuesday and travel to Hershey on Thursday.
Wallace
The Wildcats hosted a triangular with Maywood-Hayes Center and Brady.
Against MHC, Wallace was swept, 2-0, with set scores of 25-18 and 25-17. Reagan Finley had five kills and 10 digs, Mariana Aceves-Lopez had 16 digs, and Devin Giesselmann had eight assists.
The Wildcats swept Brady, 2-0, with set scores of 25-19 and 25-18. Kaley Sauser and Finley each had seven kills in the match, Aceves-Lopez had four aces, and Giesselmann had 13 digs and 14 assists.
On Thursday, Hi-Line came to town for a dual and the Bulls took sets one and two, 25-22 and 25-20, Wallace took sets three and four, 25-21 and 25-21, and then Wallace came out on top in set five, 15-8, to take the match, 3-2. Finley had 15 kills, five aces, and 17 digs, Mallory McConnell had 12 kills, 16 digs, and five blocks, Sauser had three aces, 16 digs, and 23 assists, Aceves-Lopez had 10 digs, and Giesselmann had 19 assists.
Wallace is now 10-9 in the year and will travel to Dundy County Stratton for a triangular with the Tigers and South Platte on Tuesday and to Medicine Valley on Friday.
Wauneta-Palisade
Wauneta-Palisade traveled to Dundy County Stratton on Tuesday for a triangular with the Tigers and Northern Valley, KS. The Broncos swept Northern Valley and were swept by Dundy County Stratton. This was an RPAC Rundown Featured Matchup. You can read more about these matches here.
The Broncos hosted SEM on Friday and won set one, 25-23, dropped set two 26-24, and won sets three and four 25-23 and 25-22 to win the match, 3-1.
Wauneta-Palisade is 12-8 and will travel to Perkins County on Tuesday for a triangular with the Plainsmen and Garden County and then travel to Hitchcock County on Thursday for a dual.
