Warriors Win Big Over the Trojans in Season Opener

A Furnas County Battle, Republican River Rivalry, whatever you want to call it, matchups like this always create buzz. Well, the visitors from Arapahoe came to Cambridge and took care of business winning 44-14.

We start in the first quarter, the Warriors had the first possession and did not waste it. It was an eight-play drive, capped off by a 26-yard touchdown run by Will Cacy. Arapahoe was off and running and the score was 8-0 with 8:30 to go in the opening quarter.

The two-point conversion was a pass from Trenton Roskop to Kade Fisher and it was 16-0 with 5:18 to go in the first quarter.

That's what the tally was going to the second period.

Cambridge did move the ball on the ground some, but some miscues stalled many of their drives. The Trojans also played a pair of freshmen, Abram Norton and Braxton Mitchell at quarterback and they got some good experience in this first game.
