Week 1 RPAC Football Results




It's back my friends. Football season. It is just a wonderful thing, and it was a full week one as 15 of the 16 RPAC Teams were in action. Before we dive into each team, let's look at our Weekly Football Scoreboard brought to you by MNB Realty.





Alma


The Cardinals started 2024 with a solid opponent, the Ravenna Bluejays. Alma couldn't keep up with the high-scoring offense of Ravenna, losing 60-14. At this time, stats are not available for Alma. Alma will look to bounce back on Friday, on the road at Pleasanton at 7:00 P.M. CST






Arapahoe


Arapahoe went 15 miles west on Highway 6/34 to play rival Cambridge. They won big, 44-14. Read the game story here as it was an RPAC Rundown Featured Matchup. Arapahoe is 1-0 and will play Bertrand next Friday at 7:00 P.M. CST at home.


Bertrand


The Vikings played hard, and even though it's a loss, they can build off of it, they fell to Kenesaw to start the year. The final score was 40-34 in favor of the Blue Devils. Kayden Hatfield was solid. 10-16 with 193 yards and three touchdowns. Thunder Nelson had 150 total yards of offense and four touchdowns too. Cooper Langford led the rushing with 42 yards.


On defense, Waylon Olsene had 11 tackles and Marshall Steinbrink had 10. They start 0-1 and will face Arapahoe on the road Friday at 7:00 P.M. CST


Cambridge


Cambridge hosted rival Arapahoe on Friday at home and lost, 44-14. Read the game story here as it was an RPAC Rundown Featured Matchup.  Cambridge is 0-1 and will be at home versus Franklin on Friday at 3:00 P.M. CST





Dundy County Stratton


The Tigers had their work cut out for them as they played Perkins County and won, 20-16. The Tigers went through the air a decent amount on Friday as Dante Horner went 10-18 with 146 yards, three touchdowns, and a pick. Ethan Latta one of the top players returning in the state had 66 yards rushing. He also had 63 yards recieving and a touchdown. Kevin Garcia had two catches for 22 yards and a score and August Shaw caught three balls for 36 yards and a touchdown.


Defensively, Brock Bailey had 12 tackles, as did Shaw, and Latta and Lane Bybee each had 11. Garcia had an interception too.


The Tigers are 1-0 and will play Bridgeport on the road at 6:00 P.M. MST.






Hi-Line


Hi-Line started the season with a solid opponent in the Arcadia-Loup City Rebels. The Bulls had a narrow lead at halftime, 7-0, but in the second half the Rebels found some success on offense and outscored the Bulls 26-7.


Hi-Line threw the ball 29 times in this game and Brody Diefenbaugh had 97 yards and two interceptions. On the ground, Diefenbaugh had 93 yards. Asher Hecox had a rushing touchdown and Asher Hecox did too. Receiving, Hecox had seven catches for 65 yards.


Defensively, the Bulls were led by Kory Hort with 11 tackles and Chase Beiler had nine.


The Bulls start 0-1 and will play South Loup on Friday at 2:00 P.M. CST. in Eustis.


Hitchcock County


The Hitchcock County Falcons had a monster win to start the season as they hit the road to Brady. The Falcons won by a final score of 68-0. They took care of business early in the game and did not look back at all. At this time stats are not available for Hitchcock County.


The Falcons are 1-0 and will host Maxwell on Friday at 7:00 P.M. CST. That is an RPAC Rundown Featured Matchup.


Maywood-Hayes Center


The Wolves of MHC started their season on Thursday against Wilcox-Hildreth. That was one of our RPAC Rundown Featured Matchups so you can read the game story here.


MHC is 1-0 and will be on the road at Mullen on Friday at 7:30 P.M. CST.





Maxwell & Sutherland


The Wildcats of Maxwell played the Sailors of Maxwell on Friday night and it was Maxwell's night. The Wildcats imposed their will and won 90-6. Maxwell attempted just four passes, completing two of them, one from Jesse Reyes to Kole Jones for a touchdown for 48 yards. On the ground, Jesse Reyes had 140 yards and a touchdown. Chris McKeeman had 84 yards and a touchdown and Griffin Flock had 82 yards and three scores.


Jordan Redden led the defensive effort with six tackles, and Kole Jones had five with 2.5 TFL's. Flock had a pair of interceptions and Reyes and Brison Brew each had a pick too.

Stats have not at this time been provided by Sutherland.


Maxwell is 1-0 and will play Friday at 7:00 P.M. CST at Hitchcock County which is an RPAC Rundown Featured Matchup. Sutherland is 0-1 and will be home at 7:00 P.M. vs North Platte St. Pat's.


Paxton


Paxton battled, but came up short on their game Friday, but battled hard. They played Hay Springs and lost 28-14. They were down just a score at halftime, 12-6. In the third quarter, the Hawks made it a two-score game, 20-8. The Hawks scored another time as did the Tigers to round things out. At this time stats are not available for Paxton.


The Tigers start 0-1 and will be at home versus South Platte at 7:00 P.M. MST.


Southern Valley


The Eagles were at Franklin to begin the season and couldn't hang with the Flyers, losing 56-8.


Franklin came out strong and led 12-0 after one quarter and did not up. The Eagles scored before halftime but the lead was 44-8 at that point. The Eagles were steady with the ground game as Sam Bantam had 19 carries for 117 yards and a touchdown. Tyler Grove was 2-4 passing with 27 yards, he had 20 yards rushing too.


Franklin had a big game from their quarterback, Calvin Carraher. 113 yards passing, 237 yards rushing, and nine total touchdowns.


Southern Valley is 0-1 and will be home versus Arcadia-Loup City at 7:00 P.M.





Southwest


What a way to start the season for the Southwest Roughriders. They hosted Heartland Lutheran on Friday and man, did they start 2024 off right with a 71-34 win. In the opening period, the Roughriders hun 22 points on the Red Hornets. In the second quarter, Southwest kept it going, putting up 37 while holding Heartland Lutheran to eight. It was 59-8 at the intermission


In the second half, the Red Hornets did outscore the Roughriders 26-12, but as you can see the damage was already done by Southwest.


The Roughriders were led by Houston Billeter going 8-12 for 285 yards and five touchdowns. Jacob Barber had 12 carries for three touchdowns. Trenton Williams had 100 yards of total offense and three touchdowns. Deric Kelley had four catches for 200 yards and three touchdowns.


The Roughriders start the season 1-0 and will play at 7:00 P.M. in Harvard on Friday.


Wallace


The Wildcats played Arthur County on Friday to start 2024 and lost 71-20. Statistically, there are some things Wallace should like. Ashtin Johns had 63 yards on the ground, Ivan Aceves had 35 yards and a score, and Tyson Sullivan had 88 yards and a touchdown. As a team 200 total rushing yards.


The Wildcats could not get the air game going as they were 0-7 on passes.


For Arthur County, they had a nice game with 172 yards passing and 253 yards rushing.


Wallace will try and bounce back with a home game at 7:00 P.M. this week on Friday versus Creek Valley.






Wauneta-Palisade


The Broncos got the 2024 season off on the right foot with a nice win over South Platte, 29-6. The Broncos started strong leading 15-0 after the opening 10 minutes.


They acquired a safety in the second on a sack by Kreyton Wiese. It was 17-6 at halftime.


They were able to score on defense later in the game, in the third quarter, as Cole Chism picked it off and took it to the house. They scored one more touchdown in the fourth to get to 29.


Nathan Blackman was 4-9 with 70 yards passing, Aden Acton cught three balls for 57 yards, and Kreyton Wiese led the charge rushing with 47 yards and two scores. Casey Walker had 44 yards and a touchdown. Greyden Sutherland led the defense with 12 tackles.


At Flemming Colorado at 7:00 P.M. MST on Friday.
